Thank you Glenn for clear it up a little bit. So once servers are up again, we have to download files and find different host? Sorry, English is not my first language. So I don't get term "dissolved" very much...

Well No! Why do you want to shift! You should continue with RapidSpeeds itself :P
Dissolved means Closed, RapidSpeeds Servers Limited will be closed since they are Renaming or changing the name of the company to RapidSpeeds Limited instead of RapidSpeeds servers Limited.

Aaah. Thank you. I somehow missed that name change out. :))

I hope they (you) will fix it. :)

Where do you take your information?
You don't need to dissolve a company to change its name. It was struck off the register:

"FINAL GAZETTE: DISSOLVED VIA VOLUNTARY STRIKE-OFF"

Well Darren had told us about it, So I mentioned it here!

It raises another question - why did they talk about ddos'ing?

In addition, there is a company called Rapidspeed Limited in the register. In most countries, one wouldn't be able to register "Rapidspeeds Limited" in that case, don't know the exact business laws of the UK though.

It is very likely our data will be the same way we left it. I suspect this is purely a network issue and has nothing to do with the servers.

There is no network issue according to leaseweb, so it's definitely something else.

I have a hunch that they sold the site/domain/clientdatabse etc (not the company as a whole, in legal terms).

Well! Considering Most of the Wjunction Hosting Providers are School/College going Kids ,You dont expect them to signup contracts with the datacenter. Resellers are way to go!

I am hosting an alexa world top 6000 site using rapidspeed dedicated servers,
I now feeling very regret to host here, I lost money and reputation!
This is useless for rapidspeeds to say "No customers will be charged for their package during this downtime." because I lost lots more than that

Perhaps rapidspeeds is only for college kids, but not for serious webmasters:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

For those interested there's also a thread on webhostingtalk about the outage:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1102506

It does indeed look like they have withdrawn (well the Leaseweb Hostmaster/NOC has) all their IP space announcements on the Leaseweb AS.

This could be a ddos attack but this is unlikely since i did see no blackhole announcement going out (and traffic over any ISP just dies before Leaseweb, i.e. at AMS-IX or their Telia uplink) - fishy.
Usualy Leaseweb sends out Blackhole communities/announce for ranges under massive ddos.

it doesnt all add up for me, somethin a bit fishy here.is it bye bye rapidspeeds or isnt it?also is there a way to get our money back.i dont pay all that money out for my services to have the plug pulled on them, and especially without being notified.terrible terrible customer service X-(

You have to admit it is one hell of a coincidence that on the day that the servers are "attacked by a ddos" the company is dissolved. Also the lack of updates from RS is concerning. I for one if I had a company and people were saying I had gone bust would be coming on here with proof it was not true, especially with everything else that has gone on today.

And a previous poster is correct, you do not need to dissolve a company to change its name. If RS is not bust then could someone from RS please tell us what the trading name of the new company is and what the limited company number is

Rapidspeeds,

please don't waste our time if your company is really closing, I need to move my 1.2tb data to other webhost using my 100M port remote backup server, I will need to order servers from other webhost that will take another days to setup.

You are giving lack of information on what's happening, which making all customers panic on their servers and data.

i believe they gone.its over for them.i just find it a joke how they cant tell their own customers.i had to research for myself but still not 100% sure what goin on.its all farfetched, all datacentres down, site down wtf!!!! then they go on to say 99.9% uptime..........errrrrrrrrrr nope, which means they have now broken that statement = refunds must be given.but i guess good luck with that X-(X-(X-(X-(X-(X-(X-(

Well, I guess if they won't refund me I'll have to take it to paypal dispute. I already moved to different host, because such lengthy and poorly handled outage is not acceptable for me.

good luck with paypal mate, i believe a friend of mine tried gettin a refund through them with a different host, apparantly they dont refund for the use of hosts X-(

Don't see any reason why they wouldn't. It's a service and I didn't get me what I paid for - hosting with 99% (or 99.9%) guaranteed uptime. But we'll see, I had no problems dealing with Paypal so far.
