BoxSlots - Information for Dedicated & VPS clients

@Ajax, they wouldn't have the right to do so as the 'candy bar' was already purchased. Taking back the 'candy bar' would be theft as, with any sale, it is now my property regardless of retailer ownership.
 
Hello all. I'm opening this topic regarding this company "Server Boost" a.k.a "Instant Dedicated"


We were customers of former BoxSlots. Boxslots has been acquired by Instant Dedicated as the webpage says. This means they got all their clients and all their business.

We had the following servers with them:


2 - 40 TB Transfer - 1GBPS PORT (580 U$S)
2 - 20 TB Transfer - 1GBPS PORT (420 U$S)

As you can see, this are not cheap prices at all. Servers were good for 10 days, using them with no issues.

Now, the story begins:

At the 15th day of use, we got our severs nullrouted in the middle of our business time. We emailed them about this and this is their reply:

Hi,

We have nullrouted those IPs, we saw too much traffic going to the servers.
What are you doing with them?

As I said, you are using too much traffic. Please find a way to limit it, you are using now ~ 6 Gbit of traffic, mainly transit.
For the price you are currently paying we cannot tolerate that.

I'm sorry, but you need to specify it first before selling the servers. If you are not going to turn them on i want a full refund for all servers.

If it has an impact on our network performance we are free to suspend / nullroute the services.

Our network has no problems holding you as a customer, but you are using much more traffic as allowed.
We have removed the nulls from your IPs, so you are free to back-up your data now.

So, BE AWARE guys. This people will not let you use the service you actually PAY for and its not cheap at all. Can any mod sticky this for further information, as no one else get scammed like we did?

@surk, if you got backup, move to another provider. Serverboost is not a budget service. Jelle also confirms that.

If you go to leaseweb and use 1GBPS 24x7, then I guess they will take you down.

Budget? 300 euro per server is a bargain? No one is using 24/7 as we will consume the 40tb in 2 days man. We just have peaks.

I'm not suggesting that they would have the right to "take" the candy bar from your refrigerator without your permission, but rather, if you chose to request to return it because you weren't satisfied with it, then they would have the opportunity to stand behind the previous company's published "Satisfaction or your money back" guarantee, but not actually be required to do so, because you didn't actually buy it from them.

They have the "right" to control how their brand (that they now own) is represented in the market, and if that means backing up old warranties, they can choose to do so, but they also have the right to blow it off, as they choose too.
 
@Ajax: That would be correct however that is not my intention with I.D. (Instant Dedicated), All I wanted to do was spend the money I have (almost like trying to use a gift card) and that is what they are preventing me from doing.
 
Wow i am shocked reading this, if you are paying big money for such bandwidth and cant even burst the full port...and nothing was mentioned when you ordered the server about it... And out of the blue the server got suspended because their own business model isn't working well on this deal.. the best of luck!

@surk: What the hell? You bought a dedicated server not a VPS, why would they not let you use your Bandwidth? I would open a PayPal dispute because this is the most severe case of false-advertising I have seen in a while. Bandwidth is limited on dedicated servers for a reason -- so you can use as much of it as you want at a time until you hit this limit.

Thank you Instant Dedicated, for killing BoxSlots.

is there any way you can open a thread about this issue and about this scam company? A lot of people will not read boxslot topic and i'm not allowed to open it myself.

@surk : I agree, Taking over a company does not mean they can change the Terms of Service we agreed to (unless stated which it isn't)
