Too much money goes into the American Welfare system. People who work minimal hours a year get ridiculous checks back from taxes thanks to the EIC (Earned Income Credit) that is available.
Someone who earned $15,000 for an entire year can get back $10,000 when they file there taxes.
- That person wouldn't have even paid $2,000 for the year on taxes.
People who don't have housing, or who can't afford it get things such as HUD Housing which is provided by the government. Also known as Section 8. A house that costs $1,200/month will be paid for by the government.
People who can't afford food, or claim that they can't afford it receive food cards (WIC) up to $800/month.
People who can't work, disability, thyroid, diabetes, post traumatic stress syndrome, depression, all they do is walk into an office, file disability and can earn up to $1,500/month and are allowed to work a part time job.
People who can't afford to go to college get PELT Grants or one of 10,000+ grants out there + loans. Nobody is turned away from college.
People who need money, loans, etc, can walk into anywhere and get a car, get a loan with a snap of a finger if they make a minimum amount of money.
The problem here in America isn't the fat cat CEO's, but the contrary. Americans used to work harder and longer hours, they were more dedicated to their jobs, more optimistic, more energized. Now you see a lot of people with the attitude of "I don't feel like working", "I'm tired", "There's just no jobs for me", all this garbage in their minds. So as a result we have all of these bottom feeders who are just sucking the trillions out of the people like me who works for a living. People who use and abuse drugs suck off this system, people who are lazy and want a free ride suck off this system, people who fake injuries and disabilities suck off this system.
America has a large enough industry where we can get away with spending pretty much whatever we like. Other government will bail us out if need be because the fact is that the world is sustained off of our economy.
However, I must say, that we should cut these welfare people off that refuse to work, that fail drug tests. People that abuse the system, more of our tax money should be sent in setting people up with jobs.
The unemployment situation is another prime example. People who get laid off can collect unemployment benefits for up to 2 years! Which is absolutely ridiculous, why would you want to go out and find a job when you can work under the table and collect unemployment benefits and make more money that you would if you had a full time job
.
The problem isn't corporate America. The problem is the government in America who feels the need to buy votes. Buying votes in the form of free cellphones, free food cards, free housing, free money, huge tax rebates to those who don't deserve it, give give give and vote vote vote.
That's the problem. We would be out of debt if we fixed the leachers.
The moral of the story is. Why should people work for a living when the working pay for it?
Not sure if anyone missed the bulletin, but America is already a socialist nation, and its starting to suck. That's why we needed someone like Romney in office who WAS a business man. Because someone like that understands that in order to get your way in this world you need to work for a living. This cycle of give give give will not sustain. I already duck and dodge most of my taxes and probably wont wind up paying any this year because I feel like my money is being used for the wrong things!
Even with all this being said, America isn't a perfect system or society but it's still the largest economic, most powerful peaceful reigning force on the planet. I am grateful to have been born here and would die for anyone of my fellow Americans. I would take up arms to defend any defenseless country that needed help and I don't mind helping those in need monetarily who actually need it and cannot provide for themselves (as there are those who are helpless). Domestic or foreign I would risk my life for anyone I could that was being wronged.
