oh and i do regular backups, except i happened to leave the last backup on server. so only have an older one now. very irritating
 
I opened a dispute with paypal as well. If he isn't going to face us as a man, we have to force his hands to get our money back
 
I never do paypal disputes. I skip right to my credit card companies

Unfortunately all of my dues were paid via donations from a previous site.

Least he could do is unregister the domains or transfer them to us.
 
Un-bloody_believable!!! i cannot believe the amount of trouble i have had with webhost's lately, but we really don't know if he's pulled the pin as it happened over weekend so don't know if they 24/7 support.
 
christ boris lmfao! Just accept he fucked you and move on. stop with the we don't know. this did not happen on a weekend. it happend on a weekday and moved into the weekend and back into the weekday again
 
Well damn this is a pretty bad situation indeed. If he really quit without notice then I feel bad and stupid for all the times I recommended HB to people :(. Not only will he have lost his company but also screwed over many sites and people.

This is not good...
 
Just got word back from Paypal.

Since I paid over 45 days ago (48 days when I filled the complaint) they can't get the money back automated. The only thing to do is wait for others to fill a claim against them and after that Paypal can open an internal investigation against HostBeyond and get the money back.

JJJ, please give a suggestion on how to get this to my bank. I paid by Paypal but I used my cc to do it, so basically the money are from my bank account.
 
I will not just let this be. We're out nearly 100 bucks and fuck if I'm going to let it be. We had no idea who he was, in fact I just discovered it by googling hostbeyond downtime.

He advertised as a company. He did everything like a company. There was no "Oh well you should have known", because quite frankly there wasn't. This is a huge pile of horseshit and this is not going to just be forgotten.
