Ok cvrle, i guess only your suggestions are worth any weight around here, forget it im not going to argue with someone that has their blinders on

We are not arguing, we are discussing. If you don't see the flaw, the way how you put things in wrong place, that's not my problem.
I am not suggesting anything, it's already that way. Calling that stupid in cb, won't make you bigger...

Well, I personally think that if you visit someones site... (as cvrle77said..) you should have the respect to respect your host! We have all been around long enough to know the basic courtousy rules and therefore shouldnt have to be told or read any rules without breaking them! Decency and common sense should prevail! Sometimes I honestly think that the Staff are TOO lenient on some members! I also think the ones that do get infracted and banned are also the younger part of the membership, either young in age or are new to the site where ignorance blinds them!

2 main reasons why the traffic on this forum has decreased

To many tic tacky rules

Mods a few are power hungry they will ban without sending you a pm first because banning someone is much easier. A few mods wiill close a threads because the mods does not like the thread. A few of the mods here doing the things they od if they were mods on other forums do the same crap they would get banned. I think it is time for a few more mods.

Another thing I do not like is when a mods closes a threads and tells to read the rules they never tell you which rule you broke they should state which rule you broke and post a link to the rules
It's your responsibility to read them. We are not here wipe your ass. Read the rules. By not saying what rule you broke, you have to read them.

I'm not sure about the others, but I'm not going to add a link to the rules unless its a automated thing.

9/10 of your posts are about how some big site is going to close in 6-8 months if they don't suck your dick and give you the world. Every fucking post you have some stupid timeline for everything that never happens. There is no need for a thread on a host being down for 90minutes. Have a site that gets more then a few thousand visitors a day and you will see downtime is normal.

None of that is power hungry.

Their job is to help, not criticise, moan, harrass, and put down ideas or members.

Just saying.

This is true maturity.:))

+1...This is what the staff needs to learn and also understand that being staff doesn't mean you are always correct.

This thread looks like more of a staff vs members thread. There isn't any point further discussing as it is very evident from the staff's replies here that they aren't gonna accept shit nor are they gonna try and improve a damn here. They just love their green color.

Some staff have issues with specific members. Get over it. It's just life. Do you think you help when you come in with comments like that and try to stir the pot talking about ban material? how do comments like that make you any better then what you are saying is wrong with us?

Careful, that's ban material!

Rule #127,502: Do not question a staff member's motives.

The difference is that I, unlike you, am not a staff member. As a staff member, you need to act like one. Whether or not you agree with me is irrelevant to me. I'm merely stating flaws I see. You can't handle criticism, so you bring my content into play? I'm not a "Super Mod." Handle your shit.

If I get into it with a member, we hash it out. If a staff member gets into it with a regular member, the regular member gets banned. That's why staff is supposed to avoid conflict.

Your mind won't be swayed, that's cool. Mine won't either.

This is a web forum. I'm a staff member, not a minister. We can lose it sometimes. Get over it. Your theory that members can act like a prick and mods cannot is wrong. Always has been always will be.

Ah, you jumped to a conclusion.

You assume I mean staff cannot sometimes behave like a prick. I believe they can. When they're constantly that way, though, it is a problem. You're proving my point just by the way you reply.

If you so desperately want to be a troll, step down from your rank or deal with the criticism.

Didn't jump to any conclusion. I'm not even at a conclusion. I'm just having a conversation. You said yourself members can behave like pricks and mods cannot....so how how are you saying I'm wrong in what you said?:

The difference is that I, unlike you, am not a staff member. As a staff member, you need to act like one.

I said mods should not. Everyone "loses it" every now and then, but when your posts are normally abusive, that does not apply to you.

I'm surprised that there aren't a lot of currently banned members in this topic.

Staff overstep their boundaries. Their job is to help, not criticise, moan, harrass, and put down ideas or members. If the site wants to make a serious push at being a legit webmaster hang out, that kind of crap needs to be cut out. Is a smart ass rebuttal really needed? No. Close or delete a thread, ban a member, and go on. You don't need the last word.

The amount of hypocrisy here is humourous. I don't usually mind it, but the constant slamming of members has changed my mind. Trolling is ok, but the level at which staff does it is ridiculous.

I'm sure I'll see a reply along the lines of: Cry moar. Get the fuck out. You're an idiot.

Learn to accept criticism.

Also, "People leave and they aren't missed." -- paraphrasing. What a horrible way of looking at things and showing gratitude. No wonder most of the content here is requests for help, and so little of it is actual help.

Corrected that for you; being staff here is voluntary. We weren't hired, we are not paid a salary. This is not a company. Staff here do not have a rule that says "treat everyone with respect regardless of how much of a dick they are to you". That rule exists for formal companies; WJunction is a web forum.

Suggestions are welcome, as they always have been. Mindlessly bashing the staff is not encouraged or for that matter, tolerated. If a member comes around suggesting I axe away the part of forum that earns me 90% of my revenue, I'm going to respectfully refuse it initially. But if the same group of members consistently put the same suggestion forward day in and day out, moan about it time and time again, so on and so forth, I will most likely end up harassing them so they can get the idea in their head that suggestions are welcome, but not impending on me to implement.

I've said it once before in this thread, and I'll say it again - this community is not small. It's not just a bunch of people discussing stuff. This community is large. Larger than you're apparently assuming it is. It's also diverse. It's host to people from literally all over the world. So moderating this community is far difficult job than it is a different/smaller community. Staff members lose it at times, as Jesse clearly highlighted, and pushing them only further is asking for an eventual ban; a ban that you'll turn around and cry over later for being unfair when it's yourself to blame for pushing too many wrong buttons.

As for the "people leave and they aren't missed"; it's true. I'm not going to name people, but here's an example of a member who decided to leave the forum in protest of a staff that was recently promoted. His claim is he won't be 'coming back' until said staff is demoted. Why? Personal beef I tell you. Oh, and let's see how much value this member is to the community - all he does is hang out in the chatbox trolling members, occasionally throwing racist comments, and being a general nuisance so to say. No contribution to the community in and of itself. Yeah, I'm pretty sure no one is going to miss people like that. They are not owed any 'gratitude'.
