I think removing 1080p was a good idea.
1. It reduces RapidVideos costs for Encoding Servers
2. Less costs for RapidVideo, less annoying popups (I hope)
3. 1080p on a stream would end up looking at most like 720p after it was converted... If you want to share real 1080p to your customers, go distribute the Source File. Bigger numbers don't mean better quality...

Well 1080p cost 4 times more power as 720p does in encoding, it is pointless because it is consuming tons of bandwidth and if everyone watches in 1080p, the service would end in unprofitablity and unable to handle the bandwidth. I would focus on other things such as storage consumption, lesser bandwidth, better efficency, more profitable for everyone, etc.:disappointed_relieved:

However if there is so many Premium users like over 20K active premium users all the time, then its no problem to have it permamently.:astonished:

1) It would be good to have 1080p active for premium accounts
2) who wants to upload 720p will upload 720p anyway

will it not be 1080p for premium users now?

Finally, never saw the point of your 1080p option when it costs that much and your 720p has better bitrate than most hosts.

Of course, our 720p encoding have a better algoritim and our settings can pack so much data in so small space of data. It is very well tested settings since 3 years till now as I have been experimented with very many various settings.:muscle:

The point of the whole problem, is that the 1080p are only watched by 10% of total vistors, but it consumes 40% of our total storage and we only have 410 active premium users including the uploaders at the moment. Once it reachs 20K premium users, we can re-enable it again.:confounded:

okay, I understand, but if some companies like you now support 4k, I expect you to do better )
