@Mucha

Ok, fine, but you have to give me the module. I paid for the module, where is it? He never provided it to me, he never said you can download it from your own server. If you take money for a module, you have the burden of providing the module, not me. Give me the module or my money back, one or the other.

This is all very unfortunate.

I have explained you in private message already. You've pruchased module from one of devs that was working for me 2 months ago. You've got module delivered and installed on VPS you have purchased. You had access to the server 24/7 but after couple weeks from server closure due to resignation from such services you come here and claim for another refund because you didn't copied the module from the server? Man are you really like that? Worth mentoining that you claim that my dev have not delivered the module to you and you claim that it was purchased module from your script site. However i still not denied any refund to you but asked you to prove me that he've done that. You did not prooved anything and not even have bothered to prove anything.

costum module development != 100% new developed stuff

if at the end the needed functionality exists , the job was done.

no backup no mercy

- my opinion -

Man he was using it for 2 months. During that time he never claimed anything like that. But when covid hits his pocket he comes to claim money back, i will happy refund him money if he provide valid proof that the job was not done as he agreed to. Since i don't work with the developer who made it anymore i'm not able to verify if he is saying the truth or not, my request for him to send a proof ended up with paypal chargeback claim.

I think OP is in the right here, he wanted custom development. Your dev who you are representing did not make a custom module instead purchased from youPHP which is not custom. You should refund him his moneys

That's the case. He can't prove that! If he does i don't see any problem in refunding him money.

OP ^^ prove this and @Mucha will refund your moneys

This is exactly what i stated to him in private messages! Take a look at them. Problem with him is that he was using the module for 2 months. During that time he never said a single word that it's not he paid for. But after 2 months he comes and says it's not what he paid for because he doesn't run that website anymore.

Hey everyone. I thought I would take a moment to share my experience working with PlayTube since June. Unfortunately for me this was not an altogether positive experience. Some hard lessons learned.

On June 23 I posted in these forums a request for a developer to create a plugin or adapt the existing FTP plugin for AVideo (formerly YouPHPTube) so that I can use GoUnlimited as storage for the videos uploaded by my site members (https://www.wjunction.com/threads/looking-for-developer-to.247895/). Mucha, who identifies himself in other threads as affiliate manager for PlayTube.ws, responded and requested more information via PM.

I told Mucha I needed "two things: (1) I want users to be able to watch and/or upload videos for free with ads and to be able to pay for an ad-free membership for, say, $4.99 a month, or something like that; and (2) I want to all videos to encode to MP4, which AVideo can do using their own encoder, AND to store the videos at GoUnlimited. I will pay for premium membership at GoUNlimited and install the script on their own VPS."

Mucha responded saying the modifications will be hard because "they will cost a bit of time to simply develop them and connect them with other script features." He suggested I could buy PlayTube's "Premium Player (No ads serving in it, you can have own or charge money for views through your script). And simply using upload form on your site that will be directly uploading to your account at playtube . . . Entire modification eta is 3 weeks (working couple hours a day) and it will cost you 200$ for modifications not including premium player in it." I accepted this offer.

I connected with PlayTube on skype. I assumed I was speaking with Mucha initially, but I am fairly certain I was speaking to someone else, but I do not know that person's name. On June 30, I wrote, "So you need 3 weeks, correct? To develop a plugin that will have all uploads to my site stored on your servers. $200, yes?" Because I asked for an invoice, he added 23% tax. On July 1 I paid $246 through paypal. I have the invoice, which states: "A custom module development for YouPHPTube script. Module will be done within 3 weeks time frame during business weeks (weekend's not included)."

On July 11, he announced that he would be on vacation from 7/14-7/23. On July 30, he demo'ed his progress using a local installation of the script. There were a number of small issues, but I felt the progress was satisfactory and was headed in the right direction. I also paid for a VPS from their hosting company to host the main site on. That way he could "install it completly free now and edit your premium player subscription so it charges for vps and premium player automaticly (sic)." On 8/4 I got the IP address and used Cloudflare as DNS. By 8/8, the site was finally up, but it wasn't working well. On 8/14 I sent a lengthy Skype message about the different ways "this isn't working too well." On 8/16 he admitted that "[w]e can't really make it to work with our ads delivery system," which contradicts what I was told and what I was paying for.

There were also many problems with their encoder not picking up the metadata of the videos, particular the title of the video. On 8/19 the site went down for more than 24 hours. Another time, the videos stopped playing altogether. By 8/27 I was pretty frustrated. I vented a bit of my frustration - not rude or anything, but I did make the point that this "had dragged on and on and on" and none of my extensive experience working with AVideo in the past had resulted in the issues I was having with the videos that were being uploaded. He responded claiming that it "might be an issue for youphptube that is outdated by php era." He offered to make a full refund at that time, and asked that it would be at least 2 more weeks before he would "have time for anything" besides the "playtube major update." I agreed to move forward with PlayTube - clearly, I should have taken him up on his offer.

On 8/31, I met virtually with the author of the AVideo (formerlly YouPHPTube) script, Daniel Neto. During that meeting, I got on Skype and asked PlayTube whether he only "added the FTP plugin with credentils for playtube," because Daniel was unable to find ANY modifications or new custom module in the script files. It had become apparent by this point that Playtube had, in fact, did no modifications, nor had a "custom module" been provided or uploaded to the site. This was confirmed by Daniel. All Playtube had done was buy the FTP_storage plugin from the AVideo plugins page (https://youphp.tube/marketplace/) and provided credentials to one of their storage servers. I could have done this myself - in fact I had on multiple occasions. This was simply not what I was paying for.

I probably should have confronted him at that point and demanded my money back. I opted to move forward in the hopes that I could salvage this project. I was spending $65 a month for a VPS and a premium membership at PlayTube, which isn't bad. I didn't want that money to be for nothing.

The site went down again on 9/1 for "network maintenance." After it returned, I decided to use AVideo encoding script for video uploads, because nothing I was doing was working with PlayTube's encoder and I could never really get much help. I was also able to import hundreds of videos from youtube to my new site. AVideo's encoder script captured titles and everything I needed.

On 9/11, I was advised that AVideo/YouPHPTube is "just a bad script . . . outdated by php era." He then offered me his own video-sharing script. He said I could demo it after he finished updating PlayTube. On 9/14 the site down again because they wre "[c]haning proxies to new ips." On 9/17, he stated he was still not "finished with playtube yet." Videos stopped being playable on 9/19, but were fixed shortly thereafter. By 9/27, I still had not heard anything. I asked for "some idea of when and if I will ever see this new vid sharing script." He never responded and I have not heard from him again.

On 9/30, I posted privately to Mucha on wjunction.com asking him if he can help because I had not heard from the playtube guy I had been working with on Skype. His response was stunning: "i have no idea, i have no contact with him since 2 weeks, he went to holiday and not responding to me at all, right now i mantain playtube alone."

On 10/1, I asked for my money back, but he eventually only refunded me the last $65 pament for server/premium fee, not the original $246. On 10/17, I reiterated my request for a refund. He asked for proof that the work wasn't done and I showed him the Invoice that clearly states I was paying for a "custom module." Mucha has access to the skype transcript as well, in which I was told verbatim by whoever that was I have been talking to that "if you go here . . ." "http://gosoaps.ws/admin/?page=storage_settings . . . you will see FTP storage." That is the name of the YouPHPTube plugin on their own marketplace page, it is NOT a custom module. I did not need to pay $250 for a plugin that costs $30.

I have asked for either the custom module itself OR my money back. Mucha refuses to provide either. I file a claim with PayPal.

I would strongly encourage you all to be very cautious in your dealings with playtube. They will NOT honor their word or their work.

You open 20 threads about same thing. Post your response with proof in main thread instead of trashing playtube everwhere you can.

Mucha, this is the only place I posted about this. I don't know what you are talking about. I can appreciate that you are angry about how this has turned out, but it is not my fault you partnered with someone who ghosted you and your customers.

Give me the custom module I paid you for or give me my money back, please. Thank you.

This is another trash thread without any proof. 2 months later from the situation. Reported anyway. Focus on providing proof in one thread. I can also play dirty with you. No worries.

How am I supposed to prove your developer didn't the job? I don't have the module I paid for. You guys did that, where is it? You prove you did it.

I did NOT pay for function. I paid for a custom module. Where is it? It was NOT installed.

Not two months later. You were ghosted by the developer I was working with and I didn't learn that until 10/1 when I asked you why I was getting no response and you told me you hadn't heard from him either in 2 weeks.

Since 2 months you was not saying anything about that. Why? Explain me why you come with such claim after 2 months of using this module ?

Module was installed on your server and you was using it for 2 months. Why have you not copied the data? In your opinion i'm the one who need to keep the copy of your own website files?

Still you provide such claim please provide with proof and explain why you have not mentoined anything during the time while you was using module, case could be resolved long time ago when dev was reachable.
