As I predicted on Friday Google Chrome has over taken Internet Explorer as the top browser, a position it has held for over 13 years. While Chrome overtook IE a number of weeks back for a day it's only now it has done so on a weekly average.
Launched on the 2nd of September 2008 Google Chrome has quickly grown and developed rapidly to become the world's number one browser and in doing so forced other browsers into faster development and release cycles like the FireFox six week release cycle.
This has helped consumers by increasing the quality and speed of all internet browsers and enabled an enriched, faster browsing experience. Websites such as Facebook, Youtube, Gmail, etc would not be possible if not for the pioneering developments lead by Google Chrome.
While other analysis like Net Applications still have Google Chrome below IE the growing trend of Chrome and declining of IE over the last number of years remains the same.
