Hello,

I am in the process of creating a file host, and am using OVH object storage. When I'm uploading a file, I get about 150 KB/s, which is pretty slow.
What can I do to increase this speed and get it much closer to speed to Streamtape's speed? (Streamtape also uses OVH, but I think they use dedicated servers)

If your setting up your file host on a VPS with only like a 200mbps connect if will never be fast

If you can afford like $300 to $500 pre server and get 3 to 5 of then I know of a host that might work I am not sure if they allow adult content of warez sites

Is it a dedicated 100M? or 1GB?
I don't have a dedicated server. I was building for Object Storage, but realized I may need to go the dedicated server route for speed.

The problem is OVH has a ton of dedicated servers, and don't know what to go with. Here is where I'm looking: https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/bare-metal/prices/.

Yea I can afford that. I just need to know what Server.

OVH has many options: https://us.ovhcloud.com/bare-metal/prices/. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, It sounds like you're encountering some bandwidth limitations with your current setup. You might want to consider optimizing your upload process, checking your network configuration, or using a dedicated server that offers robust performance and faster upload speeds.

Have you looked into whether upgrading your storage plan or utilizing a dedicated server might help improve your speeds?

Consider optimizing your connection, checking for any bandwidth limitations on your side, or using a CDN to speed up data transfer. Also, upgrading to dedicated servers like Streamtape might help you achieve those higher speeds you're aiming for.

Please don't listen to those idiots above trying to sell you their product. Mostly file hosting doesn't work just around your uplink which is important but also server hardware plays the key role, in order to have fast upload speed you need good drive in server that is able do handle high I/O along with the uplink usage. Most of the hosts who sits at ovh uses STOR1 servers with NVME as OS drive and RAID around HDDS.

1. NVMe or High-SSD. But I only support NVMe must-have on your main server. Forget HDD...
2. You need good knowledge of scripts, server configuration, and DDoS management or always you can hire someone.
3. OVH-Object-storage, Contabo, Qiniu KODO, Leviia Object Storage, Cloudian HyperStore, DigitalOcean Spaces, Scaleway, Object First Ootbi or things like them - Just ignore them like they never exists! Just don't google it after reading my post :see_no_evil:
4. If you want to use s3 kind of storage directly choose plugin available for your script or go to Upwork and hire someone to design API plugin script for you. :fireworks:
5. Now marketing. Open a thread here or bribe WJ :ok_hand:

done.
