But, Ricky, say if I downloaded 500 GB of files in one day using my private rapidleech and only this rapidleech, will my premium account be a candidate for suspension?

@iTwins: What's the "high" port? (81-65535)
What OS do you use?

I have simple linux box with apache2 preconfigured port on 82, and it works perfect.

Any high port is fine. My website uses port 9880 and I am using a Synology DS101g NAS box with some type of Linux OS (sorry I don't anything about Linux).

I am sure it works perfect but before it becomes perfect I need to know how to make it perfect :)

How to configure the script to define the port?

Thanks

@iTwins: I think the RL doesn't have a direct connection about the ports. It's just a php script. All you need to do is to change the port of your webserver, so I was asking you what's your webserver? :)

@Taipan same here, I get up to 300 kb/s even though I have much faster internet connection.

Is this because I'm located in Europe?

It could be. I hear those who complain of slow downloads usually come from Europe. But usually they complain of Hotfile. But then, Fileserve and Hotfile are both in the States, so that could be it.

In the beginning, Fileserve download speeds were very slow. I very seldom download from FS because I could never get more than 1 MB/s. Now it has come a long way and I am getting 5-6 MB/s regardless of time of day. The way I normally download (once in a blue moon 500 GB/day) I worry they might kill my account :(

Sorry, actually I am using a Synology DS101g NAS box with some type of Linux OS (sorry I don't know anything about Linux). I normally change the port via the Synology's proprietory admin panel.

Does RL supports Apache for Windows? I can always install an Apache webserver on my laptop and run RL from there.

Thanks

RickyFS, no response to either of my emails, so i'll post it here.

Im unable to connect to FS from my home connection ( Comcast did something to block me :P )

So i purchased a RDP , will my account be disabled if i use the RDP and hidemyass web proxy to login to my account. I only download (which i rarely do) from FS , and i use the RDP.

But i login with more than one IP ( RDP, and w/e IP hidemyass gives)

Yes, that will be possible and the easiest way to handle that out. You can try installing 'XAMPP' for Windows, which has php already installed in.

Give it a try, and let us know. :D

I think there will be no problem at all, but you have to be careful and don't download at the same time from both of machines. Wait Ricky to confirm this.

@Cober:

Thanks for your help. XAMPP works without much configuration. However, everywhere I upload to is so ridiculously slow. Is there anywhere to configure the speed.

Also, do you have a link to download the Fileserve upload plugin? I don't see it on the RL forum

Im in australia.. I have a usenet account which is hosted in US and get 1300 kb/sec from, i never have probs from US hosted sites, just Fileserve, its like my account with FS is throttled, ild be lucky to have downloaded 1-2 gig from FS since i joined..
I was a free user then upgraded, its like my bandwidth never got upgraded.

@ Shark: No, because how is our team supposed to know it isn't the same person operating under same RDP? *lightbulb*

@ DBM: Yes. Don't download simultaneously and we'll be on the same wavelength.

@ techdaemon: Like I said, it depends if our team finds the evidence needed to deem it as account sharing. The job isn't easy.

@ MVS: Could be. Although a lot of Europeans we know (from friends, family, friends of friends et al.) are maxing on our speeds and are quite happy using our service.

@ Taipan: Much of it comes down to the peering - Where the data is sent through; which hubs and transits. Australia isn't the best place in the world to be in when you're downloading from any US host located on the East Coast. Your data is literally sent across the world.

What you can do is, when you become a member; you can go to choopa's speedtest (google), do a reverse traceroute and provide me with that + the IP you tested it from. Maybe our host can do something about it. Just to be clear on one thing, we don't have monkeys that sees traffic going to Australia and then go: "Nononono, we want our traffic to go to EU" :)
