We just launched Premium, the effects are not so bad and the limits is not too harsh, it actually help us a lot to protect our Host from unauthorized apps and tools.
It adjust according to our server load... if our servers is overloaded, 3 hits per hour, if its during off-peak like in the morning, 10 hits per hour.Looks decent. What are the viewing limit for free users?
Could you please explain how and why people are supposed to buy a premium account for viewing?
With these limits noone needs one. Who watches more than 3 or even 10 videos an HOUR, even a DAY? You might be able to get rid of a little automated mass downloading but there are ways to get a new IP, delete cookies etc.
So it seems that the new plan is good for viewers but won't generate any income neither for you nor generate sales for the uploaders of your files.
Why do you want to make the search (Bitporno?) make private? This is how people find the stuff on your site and is an incentive to buy premium for watching. I don't think anyone will buy premium just to search the sites.
Maybe I'm just too stupid to understand the new system.
BTW, all the codes you provided were taken in an instant. :-)
Rapidvideo has a public search? That was new to me. So this means that premium members do have access to all content that has been uploaded to rapidvideo?
I thought that on rapidvideo the videos are private unless one shares them? There is no option to make them public or private / not available to other premium users either.
On Bitporno there is this option which has no effect though for ages. All videos are public.
You say that most people watch 1-2 vids an hour, there are no limits. So how do you want to sell premium accounts to viewers?
I simply don't get it. I could understand that people might consider buying an account when viewing is limited to let's say 5 minutes or 1 video / day. And have to pay if they want more.
Right now it seems to me that you put your focus on selling premium accounts for uploaders, not for viewers. Is that correct?
Again, I'm fine with being a premium user (ad free watching, new public search, faster encodings etc.). Only thing that stays unclear to me is how exactly you want to sell premium accounts to "normal viewers" who basically do not have any big limitations. This is the only way for uploaders to get their share of it after closing the ppv program. At least that's what you announced here before.
Right now, its super low sales after we decreased the limits to complains like you![]()
Indeed I found one of these banners now by using an embed link. :-) Well, without limits I would just click it away just like all other ads. But I see you're working on it.
Wish you had tested and implemented all this before the sudden closing of the old PPV program. I read that big uploaders switched already and move on. I have to agree that this is a big change which should have been tested thoroughly before going live and not be implemented little by little in a production environment. Well, so what, good luck!
