Wordpress Custom Post Type

Hi everyone,

How do I create a custom post type in wordpress? I want a non-admin user to be able to add new post with limited fields.

For example,

1st field: Title
2nd field: image
3rd field: short description
4th field: download links, etc..

I found some free plugins on wordpress.org/plugins, but I have no idea how to create one or how it works I'm a total noob.
Forgive me, but I am fairly new with wordpress.

Yes you can do by manually or using plugin like Custom Post Type UI.

Pods is (imo) the best choice, you can create custom post types and add custom fields to it, create custom taxonomies.

Custom post type are really great in word press, great plugin.
