WJunction seems a bit immature (the posts I see)

Complicated area when you crack down on "immaturity". Even the most mature can have immature moments in the General Discussion forum. However the rest of the forums aren't really filled to a degree of immaturity.

What I can say though is the flaming. Immaturity set aside, there is flaming in the shoutbox and people jumping on others threads. Which goes back to trying to contain this from happening. It was obviously out of the question as my request didn't get anywhere, so I guess they don't have a problem with it being displayed in the shoutbox or on other threads.

I'll still come here regardless, it's not hard to ignore people. Hell I just saw Hawk and someone else acting so immature and Hawk was a moderator here for how long? It's any given day someone can act up, were people. You start trying to mind fuck us and control us to be groomed all in the same way and you have officially killed a site.

I don't think so.
But i do agree with you saying: It's any given day someone can act up, were people.

But you know as well as i do that the Staff here are to soft and not strict enough.

I say there should be a line that if you cross you should get banned!
 
So far that I've been here I haven't really seen anyone get upset over a joke (in DEViANCE's case, that wasn't really a joke).

But there is alot of arguing over business deals gone bad on these forums, though :P.

The dude was making crap up about me, so I'm not allowed to say anything back? He started insulting me, You think I'm just going to sit down and watch members bash/flame at me? What if someone made complete utter shi*t about you and started insulting you would you sit back and relax? You may say ''no'' now, but I know for a fact that you wouldn't sit back and relax.

What do you mean wasn't a joke? But yeah i did not find it funny as im sure others didn't. Maybe kids these days think its cool to joke about such things but i don't.

There were mods and admin in the shoutbox who said nothing and done nothing...
 
this thread seems useless to me...makes me wonder the age of the thread starter. so whats the purpose of all this? do u ppl want different sections for older members and kids? this is a webmasters hangout...not a warez+porn site. those of u who cant handle jokes shud grow a pair and those of u who joke too much...well ive got no problem with u. i like jokes:D

I wasn't saying anything bad about you Hawk. I was just trying to prove a point that even the top tier webmasters themselves can get aggravated and express themselves in a different way, that could be offensive to others. I myself have done it. Personally I don't take it to the shoutbox, I will defend myself as appropriate as possible - sometimes I will crack a few jokes on someone, but there is always better methods than lowering yourself to the person whom is "bashing/flaming" you.

You couldn't have worded it any better. I was never fond of strict rules & limitations - however.. I was never fond of individuals jumping on others in threads either, that's the only reason I even commented on this topic. There really isn't much to do about a younger generation, all you can do is hope and wait for the day that they do indeed mature.

We've all been there for the most part, we can't deny it, so let's just stop the whining everyone.

Also, it takes two people to argue, not one. If you allow yourself to feed into anothers direct negative comments towards you then you yourself are no different than that person. So basically if the "immature" want to quarrel amongst themselves we might as well allow it, but the second that the alleged "mature" webmasters get involved is the second that we are ultimately becoming hypocritical.

Maybe because half of WJ are 12-14 year olds.
If it were a forum for warez webmasters only, not new traffic which then becomes webmasters, it'd be a LOT smaller and a LOT more adult.

e.g. look at the alexa rank, only the smallest percentage of that will be webmasters.
 
That brings me to this question, how old is everybody here, if your 12 I still would like to know (even though I would probably think *Hmm, I wonder if this guy has porn on his site....if he does, that child is going to grow up messed up...*

@JmZ: Pirates.bz was kinda like what you told me, it was pretty nice when I was on there but back then it was kind of dead, don't know about now.

The reason it's very inactive these days is because the older webmasters tend not to post anymore. They still check the forum but don't post.

It's understandable considering how long they've been in warez. They don't really need to be using webmaster forums anymore.

But yeah, pirates is such a forum as my description was referring to. One made for existing webmasters only, not promoted, only spread within the webmaster "community" by word of mouth. WJ has masses of traffic from katz which aren't even related to webmasters, meaning you'll find more "newbies" here overall.

Don't get me wrong though, WJ is still a good forum, it just means it contains less of who I know and more of new webmasters.
 
All the ones who really annoy me, just get the "ignored" feature, works wonders that.

And i tend to keep myself to myself, and not get involved in any bitching / arguements..

So lately i've just been reading the good tech/help sections.
