WEBTHOSTING is a SCAM!
I read all the horror stories about webthosting.com. But for 8 dollars I wanted to see if all the negativity was true and asked a couple of questions online before signing up.
One of these questions was that if private rapidleech was ok. They confirmed that it was. I told them I would password protect the directory. Another was if I could store warez files. The answer was: 'we don't monitor the contents of the server'.
Setup was faiirly quick and received the hosting information.
Because my domain was not propagated, I tested the service on IP number.
Tried to load the Cpanel ... then the problems already started. It took a long time (like 3 minutes) before something showed and it only showed half. Out of the next 10 attempts 5 or 6 were answered by' Firefox cannot connect to the server requested'.
FTP timed out frequently. Opened a ticket and Sayan said that there were no problems on their side.
Then a host of replies followed. Some downright stupid. Talking about having no clue whatsoever. Not to mention rudeness about bumping a ticket after more than 12 hours of no reply.
I then finally asked them to close my account and refund my money. Then attempts followed to change my mind because they would improve their service very soon. I told them that if they would allow a discount or credit I would be prepared to wait. After three days of waiting they accused me of wanting to have free hosting while I never used the word 'free' at all.
The package I signed up for was Photon Pro and came with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage.
Surprise, surrpise .... when I checked my Cpanel yesterday I noticed that the quota were modified from unlimited to 15Gb space and 250Gb. And the website had all new packages. Not a single notification from Webthosting (besides the fact that it is unlawful to change the terms of the contract one sided).
Also filehosting/rapidleech are not allowed anymore. Then they suspended my account for having rapidleech (even it was OKed by online support).
So I guess they have their reason for not refunding my 8 dollars. So be it ..
This was my last reply to them:
'Before I signed up, I contacted sales support online and they told me that private rapidleech was no problem.
I don't feel like arguing with you people anymore for a miserable 8 dollars. Not only are you people crooks, liars and cheats, you are pretty stupid too.
I NEVER asked for free hosting, just for a reduction in fee until your services became useful.
My time is much too precious to keep on arguing with you.
Keep my 8 dollars ... I hope you're happy with it. It will give me just more pleasure to trash your services on around 100 hosting review sites .... starting with Wjunction.com.

PS To make your life even more miserable, I will open a dispute with Paypal.'
I don't know if Bentink reads this report, but consider this:
From your website:
'We allow all types of content including adult content on our shared hosting.'
From Paypal's Accepted Use Policy:
'You may not use the PayPal service for activities that relate to:
(g) certain sexually oriented materials or services
I reported your violation of Paypal's terms.
I saw in other threads that members asked the owner of this board to ban webthosting from advertising on here.
I sincerely agree with this. It has been proven that webthosting cheats and lies to its customers (and members of this community).
Support good services, ban the bad. Hail to boards like this!

If you might have the guts to apologize and admit your mistakes and are willing to refund my US$7.95, I might consider to refrain from posting this report on 99 other review web sites.

You are a liar. You opened a Paypal dispute which according to the terms waives the refund policy. You can go on posting everywhere but we will not move from our terms. You were told you will be provided a refund and so your account was suspended and when I went to Paypal to provide a refund a dispute was already open 2 days back. You are clever to mention only extracts but you never mentioned that you opened a dispute.
You even tried to threaten us by reporting to Paypal that we allow adult content on our servers. According to you Leaseweb should be banned at first from Paypal because they allow Adult content. Allowing adult content on web hosting is not same as selling adult content. When we said that you did not reply. We sell web hosting and not adult content.
Others who have made comments there is no ground on your comments, it is just like jackels shouting. Today I say a crow has taken away your ear and you will run after the crow without even seeing if your ear is there. Whoever may call scam or anything there will be no refund for opening a dispute, this is final and binding and it was there in the terms from long time back.
