I’m writing this post to warn anyone hosting websites or running any kind of project through Namecheap:


⚠️ They suspend domains without prior notice, without explanation, and leave you hanging for days without any resolution.

🔥 What happened?​


  • A few of my domains were suddenly suspended without ANY warning or email.
  • I discovered this only when I noticed all my services were down — no DNS, no access, nothing.
  • I immediately contacted Namecheap support. Their answer? “We can’t help you. You need to email the Legal Department.”
  • So I did. I emailed legalcompliance@namecheap.com right away.
  • More than 24 hours later: still no reply, no update, nothing.
  • Meanwhile, my services are offline. My users are affected. My business is losing money.

🧢 Namecheap’s excuse?​


"The Legal team is busy. No estimated time of response. Wait."

So just like that, you lose access to your domain, and they leave you in the dark?
No warning. No ticket update. No time frame. Just silence.
This is not how a serious registrar should operate.


❌ Final words​


If you’re thinking about using Namecheap for your domains:
Don’t.


This experience proves they can take your services offline with zero notice, and leave you with no support.
Look elsewhere. Choose a registrar that values communication, transparency, and respect for its clients.

Yes, I have too experience the same, but I admit - they are right at their side, we are wrong always at some point, because we 99% users does not bother to read the terms and conditions by them.

Read this, so In my case, I purchased a domain which has a one words which relates to big giant in UK, and just due to word is similar they suspended my domain. so there is a huge list of reasons. without reason a termination does not fall. so You will have to read and understand how big business companies works, they love their business and profits instead of your a tiny domain dispute which can make trouble and make hassle for their business. Think Big and learn and Move on.
 
Buying hosting from a domain first company always seemed silly in my mind.

I use porkbun and cloudflare for domains, but wouldn’t buy hosting from them. It just seems odd. It might not be, but godaddy kinda cemented that mentality back in the day.
 
I'm sorry but i just laugh when i see such threads, your bussines you mean copyrighted content right ? Every domain can be taken down even .to there is no safe option for domain as soon as they receive court order you will be gone and India is leading in that stuff right now, every shitty company can go to indian court and obtain order to get your domain fucked in minutes.

Yes but domain like .store .live etc get taken down quicker without having order from court, it take just one copyright report for them

You are 99% to blame in this situation, you probably did something that was extremely against TOS.

I've been hosting adult content with very large amounts of daily DMCA infringements and never have I lost a domain. (yet)

Also, if you buy the cheap 1$ domains, they might get auto-suspended by the providers (not namecheap), so you'd have to reach out to them as you've probably triggered some kind of anti-spam/anti-phising detection.

Never had issues with .com

me too i have more than 50 domaine from 2016
never get a probleme

but now i have a reply from légal team, and my domain was banned because he has recieved a court order from india! like say filemoon
and like say other that right my domain banned was .store and .live
otherwise i still have many other domain warez and never get probleme with them

but i think we need a warning because before make a direct suspended

im very curious, could you tell me what the blocked domain was? Was it some brand or something?
 
I had a domain with them like 8 to 10 years ago there was one guy that go to see every domain that signed up them if you ran warez site you would get 1 to 3 DMCAs shortly after signing up. My site got a DMCA 10 days after I signed up from this ahole I found his ip I banned it never got a DMCA from him again.

If you run a warez site or remotely close to a warez site do not sign up a domain with them if you do not run a site like this then it should be fine.

I have been with Namesilo for 4 years now without one problem and they give you whois protection for free some domain registers charge $2 to $5 a year for it.
