For sure - but it's their business model. They only exist because we upload warez. And the only reason to ban accounts and NOT to pay out the requested money is because otherwise they would go bankrupt.

I also upload dmca protected files to ddownload and rapidgator since yrs and always got my four digit money on a weekly base.

Given that they are bundled in with YouTube I wouldn't say they're in hot water.

YouTube is owned by Google. Google spends more on lobbyists than any tech company in Washington DC. I don't know how much they spend on European lobbying, but I'm sure its not nothing.

This article is not "fake news", its just no news. I feel like someone working for TorrentFreak had a boring day and decided to compose a bunch of words into meaningless paragraphs....
