Starting a File Host Website

3 is not enough. We haven't launched our file host publicly yet and with 500 beta users we're already looking to add more servers to our current setup that includes 6 file serving servers. And each has 8x2GB drives.
 
You can use 6 servers.
Thats good for you.
If i want to start with 3 then i will start with 3 if more need to be purchased i will purchase more.
Right now im worried about one thing Design and the website
Once its all figured out then ill buy the servers but for now im not looking for haters or people to doubt me. You dont know what i have, what my family has and what i can invest with.

Anyways if i have any positive people wanting to actually help me other than doubt me please dont hesitate to post :)
 
He must have meant 16TB.

If you think you've enough investment, why not simply start the site ?
If you manage to launch a site in this situation (when most big hosts are down), your site will probably easily flourish ?
 
What is your domain name ie .com, .co, .ru etc? And where are your servers based?

Edit: what kind of design help do you need?
 
Personally, if you've to ask this question on wjunction then I believe you're not ready to start a file hosting site many people's have failed at this. I've listed a few pointers down below.

1. Should contact a local lawyer's (Trust you're going to need one)

2. If you're going to be offering upload to mulit servers in other countries (Check to see what there copyright law's are surely alot of peoples are going to be uploading illegal material to your server without you knowing)

3. If you're going to be offering an affiliate program. (Make sure you've enough cash before you even get ready to payout your affiliate users.)

4. If you don't have the cash don't even start a file hosting site.

My opinion once again I don't think you're ready to start a file hosting site I recommend that you stay away from it in my opinion.
