I am interesed to buy a couple servers but im not sure if its worth. I wanna know where you guys think that i should buy? I need 100% uptime and offshore.

Probably i might open my own hosting company - but do you think its worth? I don't wanna make any profits or something atleast to get $$$ for the server bills and if i get that i will host some clients for free?

I can spend around 500-600$ monthly for 3 months ( i got 2k$). I dunno what to do? Can you guys give me some suggestions.

Regards,
cann1baL.

you need to invest your money for at least 6 months and i will recommended ecatel datacenter (expensive but very good company right now) or netrouting.nl (cheaper but never tried it)

Ecatel ermm? Netrouting.nl seems good - i am from NL would e so much easier for me.

And this:
Supermicro SC933 2x AMD 250 4GB 15x1.0TB 30TB @ GigE €399

Do you think its good? I know it isnt cheap but i will give a try and pay for 6 months.

@cann1bal

i think the are not 100% uptime becouse a month server do someting maintenance..or restared server << this need 3 minutes until 5 minutes to up again then server will be get outstge a little time this if calculated with pingdom data check system every 5 minutes then the host will be not get 100% uptime

but if the host have server never restared or maintenance u will be get 100% uptime
the true guaranted server is 99.7% << this downtime 10 until 20 minute /month this normally coz if down only 5 minute get 99.8% uptime

The hosting industry is saturated nowadays. In order to be a successful hosting provider you will need a lot of money to invest, a lot of knowledge about hosting, linux, marketing, running a business etc

It's not a good idea to buy such an expensive server for the beginning. How will you make a profit with that? Do you have a business plan? If you are not experienced in Linux I would suggest you getting a managed solution. When the server gets down you have no time to learn how to fix it.

Once you start getting clients make them happy. Word of mouth can make you or break you.

I dont need to make any profit, just to help me with the server bills. And you are right about the expensive server. Well i don't know what server to buy and i can stop ddos protections, and im experienced well in linux. But i will need more people i might hire you. So you can get some % from the money i get.

It all depends on the clients, i am not sure what to do. If someone is interesed that would buy hosting from me would be better.

well you dont need to stop ddos protection, you need to provide one:P and that easier to say than done... hosting industry isnt really one man job... find something you like to do and try to do that... or if you really want go into hosting bussiness try to find partner who knows what he is doing, or get some ecperience with some other hosting provider, knowinservers are looking for ppl to join them, so try there...

Well, you will hardly even cover the server bills with such an expensive server. Thanks for your offer but I already have a job :)

Feel free to send me a PM, I might be able to offer you a better deal at a fair price.
