This is probably a stupid question, but I am a bit curious; when will it become profitable to set up your own filesharingserver (like XFS) instead of using other PPD hosts out there?
I'm a bit lazy atm, so I don't upload much. I mainly upload small files, 30-300 mb, some of these could be split in two to double the hits. The files I uploaded in march had about 30-35.000 downloads in march. Many downloads are from same ip/user, so I don't get paid for all downloads, just the regular 1 ip/24 hrs..
And the older files, pre-march, also get some downloads.
Traffic is about 60/40 US-CA/EU. No idea how many is using adblock.
I could easily at least double downloads just to be a little more active.
So.. regarding server cost etc etc, how many non-adblocks downloads do you need pr month to break even, and even become profitable?
