If you are able to use your old acc then I think it's fine to use it for affiliate.
No need to buy new one.
I am also using an old acc and it is a free one.

What do you exactly mean?

People mostly use browser to upload files, some people also use remote upload.

The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

Mostly people are uploading in the same way, there might be some temporary problem, please keep trying. Sometime it shows nothing but files uploaded to your account successfully.
