Looks good except transmission > deluge, also wine doors would be nice to include, theme reminds me too much of mint, but other than that it looks ok

good choice in music.

I guess X vs Y is all about taste. I personally don't like Transmission that much. The main reason why I went for Deluge are its futures and it's pretty similar to uTorrent which is one of the most popular BitTorrent clients. I think Mint uses the same icon set but the controls and window decorations aren't the same :).

for the mint look i was referring to the menu / task bar, which looks suse/mint(ish), also afaik, deluge doesnt support DHT/PEX yet, which transmission will be soon, something to look at.

It does :). If you check the previous vid you'll see it works pretty well to, the torrent maxed out my connection in less than a minute.

i love linux and will give this a try for sure. oh well looks like i'm facing quadruple boot in here lol

just one correction, since Vista that windows just need a language pack to change OS language and not to buy a new DVD/license, although it only changes in a user account basis and not in the full OS, at least the Ultimate versions, the others i can't speak cause i've never used them.

Danny.M, I fully agree with Windows having some major issues, especially post XP versions. But I don't agree with the Linux cliché that if it has something to do with Windows or even looks like it it's bad/evil. Windows has a lot of good stuff to which made the OS big. And there's a reason why Windows is so popular. That's also one of the reasons why I'm behind Novell/openSUSE, because they understand that point. Ubuntu does to on some levels. Infact, Ubuntu is so popular because they adopt some of the Windows philosophy.

@PsyVisions: I stand corrected :)

I did, but I can't/won't reply to every suggestion. I will take note of them however. It's a good idea, but if it gets implemented it won't be anytime soon. First focus is just to get a working pre-configured Live CD release out there.

Rar files are supported out of the box, though not trough Winrar but File-Roller.
Users can install Winrar themselves if they think they need it.

Update:
The LiveW GNOME theme is now done.
I've decided to release it already so other Linux users can use it if they want to.
I would describe it as Vista + OS/X + Gnome feel
The theme requires Gnome and the Aurora Gtk Engine >= 1.5.1.
Credits go to the people who made the controls, icons, etc.
Everything is GPL'd so do with it what you want ;).

Download:
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/312169066/LiveW-theme-0.1.tar.gz
Installation from a shell:
Code:
sudo tar -zxvf /path/to/LiveW-theme-0.1.tar.gz -C /
^Then select it in Appearance Preferences.

Update 2:
Expect the first ALPHA to be ready for download in about a week B-).

Nope the default was a dull green one.
SJshah gave me the blue one at the beginning.

just made this:

like it?

can make it big, upto 5000x3000px ;)

And btw, the whole look n feel is very flexible.
If you like a dark look you can change it in a few clicks:

And those that don't like the default background an easily change it.
One thing to remember is that you can't develop for everyone's taste :).
