Link Exchange currently has to many garbage sites trying to do LEs here are my ideas to make it better

Sites must be a min of 3 months old

Alexa rank should be under 850k

No blogs using free blog host

I hate people hitting me up do to a LE when there site does not even have alexa rank site is less than 48hrs old. Also hate doing LEs with any site that hast over 850k alexa rank and your alexa rank is 300k to 550k. So if your doing LEs with sites with really bad alexa rank and your site has decent a alexa rank for every 1 hit they send you you send them 5 to 20 hits not worth it. If your site is 3 month old and you can not get alexa rank is not under 850k your not spending enough time on your site plan and simple.

That's actually a bad idea. Everyone is free to do LE because everyone of course want good backlinks ;)
Like you, imagine wbb owner posting here a thread for LE and you reply and he says "no your alexa sucks".

If you don't want to LE just state in your thread "Minimum alexa xxx K" or "min pagerank X"...

Easy, and will save your time too .

@DJboutit,

where did you write in your thread, only <850k alexa sites?

You didn't write that or any other condition (like min PR), so how can i know (or anyone) that you don't want LE with new sites?

You said, that you accept only good forums and blogs. What is good for you? Bellow 10k alexa? or 100k? maybe more?

Just write what are the min. conditions, so everyone can see it.

Regards.

When you guys exchange links, it's a benefit of backlinking from a similar niche website, which in SEO terms, gets your site better SERP position. Blogspot blogs can have MASSIVE traffic, because google loves it's own creation, and prefers it over any other. So, not having free blogs there is quite questionable.

Also, everyone can state in their own topic, what kind of sites he wants to exchange backlinks with. There's no need for us to limit users, when users are making their own threads.

(off topic)
I think. link exchange for warez sites... should be banned or some rule ? bcz then most of sites would be proper, and people would actually come here and post for link exchange of legit sites... Suppose if i own a techblog or some gadgets blog and i want some link exchange for my site.. i wouldn't probably post here.. as i can see only p0rn or warez sites (on first and 2nd page atleast ) posted for link exchange.. rather would prefer some other forum for LE alone.. where there are people who want to link exchange with legit sites (same niche or different ) .. if banning is huge.. may be create a sub forum within Le for warez/p0rn . so that the forum could become improve more like a IM/Webmasters forum.

Well, tbh, website is website. Those who are looking to LE with tech blogs will find you. Who is in LE section on first or second page is irrelevant. People seek for specific sites, and when they need it, they will dig up your site if it's on 10th page.

This was not to talk about my other post this is to talk about the rules in general

like pi0tr3k said.... so need this teh rulez [meh]

It's not so straightforward as you think.
It depends on so many factors how google will value that link exchange, that it's meaningless at least, to say google doesn't like it.
If link is coming from content irrelevant site, if link is coming from bad neighboorhood (spam site), new site, then yes, google won't like it too much. IF that link doesn't produce any incoming traffic, this is quite bad. But if it does, why would google dislike that link? And our LE section is exactly for that, to find a good source for LE.
