Debian 5 Lenny will not get any further security updates ( as of february the 6th ) . As a Debian lover I decided to finally get my lazy ass up and install a fresh Debian 6 on my server(s). Here is the basic setup i used on most servers:
I divided the tutorial into 7 steps

- part 1 requirements, preliminary note, the base system
- part 2 the base system
- part 3 install the ssh server, install nano, configure the network, update your debian installation, change the default shell, synchronize the system clock
- part 4 install postfix, courier, saslauthd, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, rkhunter, binutils, install Amavisd-new, SpamAssassin, And Clamav, install Apache2, PHP5, phpMyAdmin, FCGI, suExec, Pear, And mcrypt, install PureFTPd And Quota, install BIND DNS Server, install Vlogger, Webalizer, And AWstats, install Jailkit
- part 5 install fail2ban, install SquirrelMail
- part 6 install ISPConfig 3
- part 7 setup openvpn, create CA/user certs using easy-rsa 2.0
