Many people don't know how to do this so I thought I'd make a tut for this..
I'll take vBulletin as the example here and convert vB to IPB.
You can download the convertor from here and you can also see what all will get converted from the same site with the options below [img]

Note: There can be a few bugs or loses while converting from other forum software. So after converting, check your forum properly before putting it online again!

Steps:
0) Turn off your vBulletin from AdminCP before starting anything.
1) Take backups of your vBulletin files and databases and save it somewhere so that in case there is problem later, you can roll back easily.
2) Remove all the vBulletin files from your public_html folder.
3) Upload all the IPB files to your public_html folder.
4) Start installing IPB. Use the same database name, database username and password which you used for installing vBulletin while installing IPB.
5) After installed, unrar the converter.zip which you downloaded from here
6) Upload all the files inside the "upload" folder to your public_html
7) Login to your installed IPB forum and go inside the AdminCP
8) Find Applications & Modules and click on Manage Applications & Modules
9) You needto activate IPS Installer
10) Once done, Click on My Apps present in the navbar and you'll see something like
Click on IPS Converters
11) Click on Start New Conversion
12) Select vBulletin 3.8 in Current Software and in ID type out anything you want.

Now click on Continue
13) Fill in all the details

14) You'll see something like

Click on the blue buttons first. After they're done, the red ones will automatically get unlocked.
Do all the settings
15) When you've finished with all the settings/conversions then Rebuild the content and Cache
16) After Rebuilding is done, don't forget to lock the system
Your forum is now converted! =D Enjoy :D
