Hello. I am new here. I am looking for mental health thread. I am having a question about mental health.
I’ve been an EMT in a busy rural 911 area for about 3 years now. I just started paramedic school last week and we’ve been going over operations and mental health stuff. Whenever an instructor brings up running pediatric codes or CISM after bad calls my heart rate shoots up, I feel like I wanna vomit, and I feel like I have anxiety. I’ve run my fair share of shit calls and seen some stuff I wish I hadn’t seen as all of us. I also don’t consider myself to have PTSD and I feel like I’ve processed my emotions pretty well over these last 3 years. Does anyone else feel this way sometimes when certain subjects are brought up? What are some ways I can push through this?
