I Like it very much thats my todays earning :D

Hey guys...Got a general question - Out of curiosity for improvement of our service, and I just want your objective opinions and thoughts on it. This is just to collect information and data.
Would you rather as a free user want:
1. Captcha (bringing back Google's captcha algo) + 60 seconds wait before download starts, but no wait on the next file (as in no 600 seconds after download)

OR

2. No captcha + 30 seconds before start of download + Waiting every 10 minutes after file complete. <= what we have currently.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

#2 - Changed my mind....

Any updates on the resurrection of the dead servers?

I think people loads a batch of URLs into their download managers and decide not to download because they see the dead files. :(

@ Gerner2010: The "dead files" (slow loading => 404 / "files missing") are caused by the misconfigged batch (around 35 servers were affected by this) - You can still get them (for the most of the servers), but it will be at slow speeds and a slow loading.

Unfortunately, our techs have worked overtime, and are at the brink of exhaustion from lack of sleep over the last 3-4 days (3-4 hours each day) solving the issues and fixing the back-end. I give them applauds for doing that, but it is hard for front-end users to see what work they've put in. We'll let them rest for the weekend as we aren't a slave-trade company and making people work 18 hours/day isn't very humane at all.

I can tell you that on Monday all these dead links/dead machines (read; slow) will be looked at and fixed.

@ EL: Wasn't that what you guys wanted? We even added back the pending bit of all files.

@ Yad: Hmm..I must either be a lucky man on a slow connection or I don't see the slow-load. I'll have to ask techs if they know about this.
Don't expect anything done by them over this weekend. They've deserved 2 days "off" to spend with family, girlfriends, rest their brain.

Ricky i didn't even care about that,my opinion :) site is loading very good and fast for me..i believe the storage must be fixed..you know ricky some things that will slow the function of the main site and downloads must be left outside..even if someone is begging to add them..

@ EL: Of course. We listen to our users and we try our best to get back to "status quo" without affecting and bringing upon a domino-effect to our service.

Likewise, when people were bombarding us with links we thought of limitations and then turned the idea down, because it isn't for the best welfare of our site to put such limitations to our users. Everyone is our first priority :)

Storage counter will be fixed. Was going to get fixed this week, but as you know the issue of our servers crackling over the last 3-4 days has given everyone (incl. you and me ;)) a headache. Hopefully this is slowly going away.

@ Yad: You could try re-upload them. Are you using FTP or web?
