Hello!

This is the first time i ever use vbulletin so i don't know anything.:hissyfit:
I am trying to install version 3.7.4.
Well i followed the directions.
It says:"The first thing you must do is to rename this file from config.php.new to config.php (removing the temporary .new extension)."
At my folder i have 2 config files.
This : config.php And this:
config.php.new
So when i tried to rename the one with the .new extension i got the error that there is another file with the same name.
So i left it as it was.
And edited the config file.
I am not sure i typed what exactly i should type but i am sure that these are right.

When i uploaded the files at the server and directed my browser to the install page i got this error:"
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/myroot/public_html/forum/includes/functions.php on line 37
"
What is that??
What can i do??

Thank you for your time!

that line should have your license there try checking it again.

Code:
Line 37: define('COOKIE_SALT', 'VVLXXXXow2');

try this,

1st. find ****** DATABASE NAME ******, and insert your sql DB name
2nd. find"****** TECHNICAL EMAIL ADDRESS ******" and add your email address
3rd.find"****** MASTER DATABASE USERNAME & PASSWORD ******" and insert your sql database user name and password

save it and upload to server

lol ...
Delete check if both config.php and config.php.new is the same by opening with a wordpad.
If they are the same, delete the config.php.new

Configure the config.php with your database details obtained from your host .. Cpanel or Directadmin or whatever.

Upload everything you need to upload ... then proceed to the installation link.

Remember to delete the install folder after you have installed though :)

---Edit,

Seems like you did it :)

Delete the entire folder ... not just the install.php
Else, anyone would be able to access your install folder and intentionally disturb your forum by downgrading your vb version.
I made that mistake once ... So I don't want people to do the same mistake.

Delete the entire install folder.
