I have seen many guys giving away useless "Like" to useless posts,even "Like" doesn't make sense if you evaluate carefully. When there's a button for adding reputation why links are added to reputation?

"Dislike" won't make sense either.

I mean OK, the "like" button is just the "Thanks" mod, with a phrase altering to replace "thanks" with "likes".

Weirdest comment of the day, how do you even "assume" what we can or can`t do lol, is this an ego shot?

Anyway.... Regarding dislike, i also think its just extra mess which will creative bad vibe among the community members. "like" is at least positive and nice button the dislike will be abused to the dark side of things.
 
there is always a good part and a bad part ... and if they are in appropriate amount then it's perfection and i guess thats what MD house wants

but then in wj or anywhere expection things to be appropriate is just a dream which is the reason there isn't the 'perfection'
according to me what md says is good but that happenning in WJ is not so good so i would say no
 
i don't agree this idea because than people show jealousy and always do this without any reason so i don't think so its important and people keep disliking each others posts
 
Maybe we should add a couple of more buttons besides the like button.
(LIKE) (SUPER-LIKE) (SUPER-DUPER-LIKE) (ULTRA_LIKE) (HYPER-LIKE) (I<3ASSLICKING)
I think it'll spread loads of positivity throughout the forum.

Ego shot? Not at all. :)
My post meant no disrespect, but like i previously stated, seeing all the default stuff that exists, i can only conclude that vB modifying/coding is not one of your strong skills. I don't know you obviously, it's just an assumption i made based on the current looks.
 
As a matter of fact, the current "Post Thanks Hack" has its opposite "Post Groan Hack" which can be combined with "Post Thanks Hack" and the default vBulletin's reputation system which just takes few clicks, changes of the phrases and the templates.
 
Ever wondered why facebook, youtube and google never added a "negative" button? It would be wise to take note of "ideas" that have already been discussed, tested and concluded by larger corporations. They came to the conclusion for a very good reason.

Dislike, negative, whatever. It is something that can be abused and have a negative effect on positive material, especially when a bunch of trolls come along and try to spoil the party, possibly for a prospective competitor.

By only allowing "positive" or "like" implementations, only those that truly like the content will click it. Trolls have no button to push. Therefore, only truly positive information/content is given its just deserts and crappy content is left behind where it belongs.
