^didnt you also have the same member (OP) cry to you dozens of times on your site about why people gave him negative rep.

kinda funny to see him now suggesting it :P

... btw. less than 12 hours from my last post and QS is already crying about who gave him negative rep.

this idea will fail.

Ever wondered why facebook, youtube and google never added a "negative" button? It would be wise to take note of "ideas" that have already been discussed, tested and concluded by larger corporations. They came to the conclusion for a very good reason.

Dislike, negative, whatever. It is something that can be abused and have a negative effect on positive material, especially when a bunch of trolls come along and try to spoil the party, possibly for a prospective competitor.

By only allowing "positive" or "like" implementations, only those that truly like the content will click it. Trolls have no button to push. Therefore, only truly positive information/content is given its just deserts and crappy content is left behind where it belongs.

Facebook is a social network. It's made for socializing with people. People just want to chat with each other, know what's going in on in each others' life.
So there could be a stupid post with 10000 likes, and an informational post with 0 like. It's just there to tell your friends that you like something. I have no Idea, how you brought facebook into the picture, and it doesn't make sense at all.

Youtube actually has a Dislike Button, because Youtube is about content. You could actually make out if a Video is good or bad based on the Likes/Dislikes. Of course it's not 100% perfect, but I think it does a very good job.

WJ, like Youtube is about content. You see what happens, I open a thread, see 12202939 likes on a post, I think maybe the post is useful. Then I start reading the post and it's just some funny crap by an administrator. Turns out, all the 'LIKERS' are actually 'ASSLICKERS' and the No. of likes turns out to be very misleading.

Ever wondered, why stackoverflow, or reddit, or youtube have Dislike Buttons?

dislike means the post you not like = dislike :P

what else need to mention and hurt a person that you dont like his/her post :-@
