And regarding smartdc resellers :-
=====================
Yes i agree they oversell, well it depends on them how they oversell
You don't know exactly their network uses. so i think maybe they have 500 servers
But still their network is not touching 10Gbps or 30Gbps.
And per rack same rule apply.
if you keep 10Gbps uplink per rack, thats good still, since no one use 1Gbps every time
still your average network uses don't go over 5Gbps or 10Gbps
so this way all client get full 1gbps or 2Gbps every time when they need.
But some reseller use 40Gbps uplink for their racks. so it won't give any issue at all.
And regarding 10Gbps servers. some connect it directly to VDX or they use 40Gbps uplink for that rack.
Its really depends on that seller how they configure network. after all whole network capacity is still low :D like 50Gbps or 30Gbps
Its just hardware cost if they use 40Gbps per rack they will not get any issue for sure.
But still bandwidth uses is same, and still they oversell.
=========
BTW who told you leaseweb connect their all 100TB servers rack with 40Gbps Uplink ?
or 1Gbps per servers
I am sure if all of their 1Gbps server will use 1Gbps full duplex they will also face issue or they wont get 1Gbps full duplex
as they don't keep like 30 Servers 100Mbps in rack and 10 Servers with 1Gbps in same rack to balance bandwidth
Note :- i am not sure how leaseweb configure their network
And yes !
i like leaseweb :D
But i like smartdc too
In Evoswitch all of servers is hosted by leaseweb mostly.
But in smartdc their are many provider who hosted their racks. and using diff diff network provider like level 3, cogent etc.
So its depend on provider whose network they choose with XX capacity of network
So compare leaseweb vs xx provider
Then leaseweb wins off course :D
