Hmmm, I am with altushost too, and they totally fucked up my site. first there was a downtime and when I submitted a ticket , it took days before they answerd it. Then a few days later they suspênded my account for high cpu usage???? And now it seems that all my files have been removed cause of a server transfer. (that is what they told me )

Anyway, I am looking for a new host too.
And altushost is defenatly not a recomendation.

The fact that they offer "$13 / year" is more then enough of a reason to avoid them. As for Santrex, they should also be avoided as I know they way oversell.

Just my opinions. Whoever you go with is your own business.

But the thing is, when I first signed up about 4 months ago, everything was perfect. Then just the last couple of weeks they turned out to be bad.
Also before I signed up, they had diffrent kind of plans, so I took the extreme plan. And now when I look again to their plans, it seems that they have changed it all. And also before they announced it on their main page that they allowed warez, and now its gone. XD

AVOID any hosting with Altushost. I was with them for under a week, last December. I had about 2.5gb of data on an account. Only to find that in about three-four days some of my folders when contained about 500mb of data vanished! When I sent them an email, this is what they replied.

Hello,

I afraid that folders to not exist.

Best regards,

It DID EXIST in the morning, but by afternoon it and other folders had been deleted. No apology was even offered!

Neither would I ever go to Santrex, or the guys who offer hosting for $13 for a whole year. What complete jerks! And yet there are many fools even on this forum who would sigu up for such unreal, crooked deals!

Well, they should be punished for doing that.

Believe it or not, this happens daily. Kids buy a cheap server, slap CPanel on it, then take cash, and never care to offer support since they lack the skills to even manage a server. This is just a growing issue in this industry. :/

I'm currently on one of the VPS, its not bad but downtime happens at least one a week which is terrible, but you know......
anyone want to offer me a better deal then what they have? lol

Viz0n, when is SolidNode.com opening VPS? Love to upgrade from my Reseller level 3 to a VPS. I know you said something about current clients getting first dibs on them when they came out.
Still need my hardware... the processors from the place I ordered from soldout. :/

Well done mate!
"Avoid AltusHost, avoid Santrex, avoid any other hosting, go to me?" =)
You working on that method? :))

Very professional from your side.

I admit we had some unacceptable downtime, but we "had". However most of that downtime was because of clients scripts or clients ISP? And plus when we speak about offshore, warez allowed hosting...
I guarantee to any of you that we have better uptime than most of offshore "companies".

We are in business with AltusHost for over 1 year, when u Viz0n make same success as we made, then I allow you to write posts like this about us. Up to then, please be quiet, you do not have right to comment our services. We don't have anything against you, just please don't write some unconnected things about our business.

We never didn't make minus for any customer, when there was some bigger downtime, client always got one month free of hosting, or discount.
Also, our support is ready to serve clients 24/7 for real! Maybe it's reason why we operate with 1000+ clients all over the world.

I've been with AltusHost 2 days. I cancelled my account yesterday. I had problems with MySQL, the FTP, the cPanel, the domain name, etc

That was hell.

I will go with SolidNode probably.

Yup. PM or email me with what ya have and i can at least match it if not beat it :D

Extreme,

sorry to hear about your problems. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

At the very least posting something like this will let the other members know where to avoid!

I was through altushost before... not bad, maybe the odd bit of downtime

the only reason i switched was because they were having firewall problems that would randomly block peoples IP's for no reason

anyone know if they are still a good host or not? apparently they fixed the firewall issues...?
