I am quite sure this method can increase the cpu load like crazy if you have high traffic websites that use lots of php queries.
 
Tried the .htaccess method . seems working . no big changes but still :

maybe gzip :| because expire headers don't. :)
 
<3 u dude. My site speed is much better than b4. I was thinking to buy dedicated server to make it fast but this trick solved my problem(it looks so for now) yeah I am noob into it & thanks for this <3 u

i have followed your post.i have already aded in .htaccess and in httpd.conf, restarting and rebooting vps. but it still not show cache-control header. i get this result after apply this finally.

for people use vbulletin you no need the mod_deflate just active gzip at admincp
if you need use the mod deflate turn off the gzip at admincp
