Since WJ has so many scammers, we should put all their usernames in to a topic where a mod would have control over the topic so only the scammers that have been proven are on the list.

Could go in the marketplace? or some sort of information page.

i think that would be a good idea
but remember once we prove them a scammer they
get banned and probably would just use a new name
so it probably be more bother then good

Something like;

Name of scammer:
Other known names:
IP:
What he/she was selling/buying:
Email(s) used (Including paypal one):
Instant messenger IDs (MSN, AIM, etc.):
Proof of scam(s):

I guess, it'd kinda help, but, like Peanut reminded me, people get banned and just re-register. ._.

Member's IP addresses won't be posted for the whole forum to see, even if there scammers, IP's are confidential information.

We have to respect people's privacy.

WJ has a rule that we're not allowed to release personal information of any member. This inlucdes IP addresses, emails, paypal details, date of birth, etc. We even have to remove links to facebook accounts unless their posted by the member themselves.

This rule has being around from the start and is to protect people as most of our members are into the illegal business of warez and we could land them in much greater trouble.

eg Imagine if Whoo's details were posted for scamming say $10. As he owns and runs large illegal warez sites he could get into far far greater trouble including jail time. And for what? A $10 text link he forgot to add to a site as he was too busy?

Further more it's in the terms and conditions people agreed to when registering and their privacy. We'd have to re-write them and get everyone to agree to the new terms and conditions which is way way too much work to even consider not to mention most people wouldn't agree to them anyway.

The only thing we could do is have a list of usernames but as it's so easy to create a new account with a new username this is a waste of time.

Meaning that if people scam someone then their chances of going to jail increase so that also means that less people will try to scam. :D
