I do not upload to this host and never did, it is for sure not banned here without a good reason, but after I signed up some time ago to check it out, today I got their newsletter:
Dear user

Today we have over-hauled the way in which we provide download links to our users. Every download must now obtain a unique download link but don't worry download links provided for old files will still work!

There are two methods for generating a one-time download link:

Method A:
1. Visit our homepage
2. Click "One-Time Link Generator"
3. Enter the unique file "Hash Key" and the associated "Password"
4. Your unique, one-time use download link will be generated for you to navigate to.

Method B:
1. Email any of the following email addresses: dl@henchfile.com, dl@hfile.co, dl@hfyl.co

2.
Set subject: File hash key AND body of email = password
OR
Set subject: File hash key "." (without "") password

3. Your unique, one-time use download link will be generated and emailed back to you for you to navigate to.

This method has been introduced to improve file security.

Within your "My Files" account section, you can generate new passwords for each of your files. You can also export a selection of files to bulk obtain the file hash keys and passwords.

[*] When you upload a file via our website you will be provided with the file hash key and auto-password for each file

[*] When you upload via FTP, file hash keys and auto-passwords will be generated automatically.

If you have any queries relating to this change please email: contact@henchfile.com or visit http://www.*****************/henchf...hange-our-file-download-process.html#post2237

Kind regards

:cough:
Now you don't get a download link similar to other XFS hosts but a "File Key" and "File Passwort", which a user has to insert both on their site form on http://www.henchfile.com/?op=one_time_gen (only accessible when logged in) and generate a one time download link, which he can use to get on the download page to select if free or premium download :cough:

They for sure want to block DMCA requests this way since there is no permanent URL for a file, but they ask you for the full URL in their DMCA form: http://www.henchfile.com/dmca_report.html
But I am sure they will fail with their strategy, it's the most fucked up and user unfriendly method I have ever seen in a filehost

Interesting concept, but dmca agents will just send hashkey to be blocked; the same way hey ask torrent trackers.

Just adds more work for downloaders, that's it.

Copy the contents of a rival forum is very ugly.

Don't know that we cannot talk about banned hosts on WJ???
Could join them.

@ankurs
I have the same opinion, it's completely senseless but generates more work for downloaders

@SPirata
I didn't copy anything from any other forum, I just got this newsletter by email, which I quoted correctly. The rest of my post is my opinion and I hope we can discuss such moves, even if they are done by banned filehosts.

This could have worked if they had a 3rd party site (offshore) to create this temp/private links, then would have been almost impossible for these dmca agents to do anything lol.

Is someone listening :O)

From the moment that has not paid its downloaders (the first time), is doomed to failure.
View your page rank in alexa, lousy. Nonsense use it.
Is like a filedefender, few paid to stay online
if it is, someone who pays, who believes ...

I agree with you.
Just I've been threatened by a Mod, speaking of the banned filehosts.

Sorry, thought I had copied from another side.

I believe in henchfile.
Those who do not believe, can not always use.

@SPirata
thanks for your hindsight, never mind ;)

But are you happy with their changes? On your website I can see that you are using them still as a mirror... Do they pay anyway? In my opinion they are very unprofessional what you can see on many things. Just try to download a file and click on "Free download" but then click on the VISA/MC button -> it redirects you to POSonline who are out of service for more than half a year now!

Also their buttons on this page are a joke
Please select your download speed:
Free - Your download will take approximately: 01:01:00
Premium - Your download will take approximately: 01:00:15

Now they fucked up for good, yesterday after 9pm I got this E-Mail and now they are already down... Very professional :fly:
Dear user

This email is to make you aware that HenchFile.com will be ceasing to provide file storage facilities on 20th June 2013.

Please ensure your files are backed up locally as they may not be retrievable after this date.

Once again, thanks to all our loyal members and watch this space!

This is really sad, I worked with henchfile and he paid me everything, but I know other with less luck .... henchfile owe a lot of money to some affiliates .... :(

Maybe the next time with a good business plan henchfile will be more successful ( I think he will come back at the end of the year)

best regards
