Doing a wget does not consider local ips and I have tried with several proxies.

I believe when the server is doing backups or some type of heavy disk access. To me it points to slow drives. Thee are times I will sit and wait for a file to load and others when it pops right up.

It's still very strange. If you could message me more about the server you were using, I could check exactly what it's doing and try to find a place that would be suitable for you.

Hi, I'm one of the 'about to be former' budgetvds/resoldvps customer (They are closing down :'() and they recommended me vps6 as a replacement host.
I was wondering if you have any plan to offer a limited time discount code for windows vps plans to the poor souls who are looking for a place to migrate to. And is occasional video encoding allowed?

Video encoding would be no problem. I'm sure we could figure out some kind of discount, depending on what you need. Just send me a PM, or open a sales ticket on the site, and we can talk!

Hi guys,

I have looked in to this personally, and the issue was a series of strong DDoS attacks received by our German node de16 earlier this morning. I believe we have null-routed the receiving IP with the assistance of the technicians in Germany, so this should not recur. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience!

I use to be on there LA node before I swapped to there Chicago one. There support had told me there LA server was having a lot of issues with the HDD. That was the cause of the downtimes.

That's correct, though the faulty drives have been replaced. We've also noticed semi-regular network disturbances in LA, and have been less than happy with our provider there. We will actually be migrating all of our LA servers to a new datacenter (Telx) very soon, with the hope of solving these lingering issues.
 
I must say that the best thing about them is their fast support i.e. online CHAT support to get faster results on any problem. But its so sad that i can't see that online chat support anymore on your site.
