That is a very good idea. Custom written articles can drive more traffic in and also, will create a knowledge base for users to search from

This reminds me of a similar problem a few months ago when Mindy decided to start a magazine/newsletter with articles, gfx tutorials etc done by members. Their just isn't enough good members who can write original content.

cvrle77 hit the point exactly. Who's going to write stuff and what are they going to write about?

In the past we had about 5 blog posts over about 3 years by admins. That's all their was before it was removed. Admin's on their own don't have enough time.

You'd need a good team of dedicated writers to write original content with none of this copy paste stuff that happens too much here. At the moment any half decent written piece gets a sticky now anyway so it receives good attention so I'm not sure their is the need for such an area.

It's a nice idea and something I personally would have an interest in but I just don't think WJ has the quality or patients for such a project.

Mindy and I were planning on the newsletter and about that interviewing members and all that.

It can be done Happy, but just that we need to get some volunteers to do it.

Sandvik writes well as I know and I can help too. Can be started I guess.

I love to write, but my problem is that I personally feel that my English and my knowledge does not meet the 'demands' that we should have for a writer.

Newsletter has been around 2009, lol. Me and countless others have failed to start it again. Only dude to get it to work was the owner of CysForum.

I'd definitely say it a big NO.

If you'd write good, you won't end up lurking on WJunction all the time.

There was a blog here made by the past admins but there were less than 5 posts for months and so it was removed later.

If the admins here are really planning to open up blog then I'd suggest that hire some "professional" writers rather than kids/people.

For Example:
Hire Mr Happpy (if he is available) for SEO Tutorials - you'll get a hit in less time for sure !
Hire RT for wordpress tutorials (yes, the guy is a wordpress God)
Hire JmZ, t3od0r, Halcyon, & humour for PHP/Web Scripting tutorials.
Hire CyberAff for general/day-to-day life/computer tips & tricks.
Hire Krun!x, XSLTel, robert420 for server tutorials.

Even a single well documented blog post by each one of the guys named above would definitely make the blog a hit. But the problem is, they all are busy with other stuffs. So I cannot see this idea coming into existence.

Before I say what is my opinion on this, I would like you to explain, what was your idea with this sentence?

Just because it failed in the past, doesn't mean we can't find good writers, and people that would dedicate few minutes a day, to write something informative, that they already know, without a need to learn it first. Anyone could submit article, which would pass through some critics/grammar correction by some other member of staff...like in school. You write, you get rated, if good, gets published, if sux, gets F-

The "idea" behind that is, if you write good with proper English, you'd be actually busy with your website writing articles, or you'd be busy in real life with some proper job.

Then, you wouldn't have any Mr Happy's tutorial here, or RTs, or anything... no one at all would contribute, because they would be all 'busy' making money in real life.

Basically, we could move NEWS/TUTORIALS section to blog, but with different conditions on posting there.

fantastic agreed <3

Busy? Really?

My real life job is writing in one of the leading news papers here. Do I seem to be too "busy" to be here?

Why do you always consider yourself to be the main leading drama queen ? Did I say you ?

Seems that your news paper is not very big since you get time to lurk around on the internet lol

/jk xD

Anyways, honestly, if I were in any writing business, I'd just visit WJunction 2-3 times in a day and that too just for getting the warez world updates. Nothing much.

This place is already complete and perfect. There is not much room for improvement. So lets just continue WJunction as its running now and close this discussion of opening a dull blog.
