You Lie.
UMB Say:

Where is the lie?

I still don't think they want user who upload TB of files just for backup without share them.

@thedossetup
Could you create another topic for file host in general as well? Not for back up only.
With info about:
- Storage:
- Max file size:
- File removal:
- Desktop program:
- Upload method: (RU, FTP)
- Payment method:

I appreciate your work!

I do it soon dear, soon. :)

The exodus of rapidshare holders have crushed filepost remote upload servers. I don't understand why these people use filepost. It is not unlimited storage as they claimed. These jerks will realize that in a painful way later.

i made choice with 1fich but remote thing is really slow and you cant give more than 10 remote session. I dont know how many days ti will take to move my 3tb files.

I created an account with fileserve and I paid for one month with my credit card... the account is still "Account type: Free" ?? :|

@slingfile

thanks slingfile for reply.

At least u should adopt changes, however can you be more specific what is a reasonable amount of TB ???

is it 4 tb reasonable for a premium account holder

we are talking for files that never SHARED or never download by anyone except the account holder.

also, files can be used as hotlinking-remote (from slingfile) to other filehost (since slingfile provides 100gb/month)

is this situation allowed on slingfile.com or we randomly gonna see deleted backup files ???

please make it more clear what is reasonable amount of data as many others are running these days.

yes tried your service, like design (FM, remote folders) but there are customers who lost files (without shared) and paid to keep them as backup or remote-hotlinking only.

We want a 100% backup service with some hotlinking-remote and an AVERAGE amount of (non-shared files) 2.5 to 4.5 TB of data.

@spirata

STOP promoting-suggesting the hosts u USE for SHARING as BACKUP.

neither fileparadox or UMB is suitable for backup usage (which simply means NO SHARING, only remote-hotlink or DL by account holder) Also Fparadox does not allow any kind of adult content like filecloud.io

There are people reading the topic as guests (due to RS situation) so do not spam THIS TOPIC please with inappropriate choices. (if u do not know what exactly a backup filehost is)

I have put my files on http://oceanus.ch - they are beta but server is reliable and space is unlimited for premium users.

Storage: Unlimited
Upload Method: FTP.OCEANUS.CH
Max. file size: Unlimited
Desktop program: Yes
File removal: Never (maybe after beta 30days)
Other: no download limit
Payment method: CC

Edit: I got free premium just by asking their support.

yes open forum but we have to be informative & accurate to others not like posting in random.....

look what others say about umb and also realize we are talking about strictly BACKUP.

anyway u have your own opinion we don't have necessary to agree.

The situation is the worst ever (for filehosts)

Hello again guys, as I was trying in last days find a good solution for backup I must tell that I am really, really disappointed, I have tested many hostings and cloud storage I found or you write about but nothing is good enough, finally i backuped everything to RG but it is very bad solution as well because as you all know they are deleting random files from accounts (file not found problem). So as someone mentioned best alternative is to buy 4x 3TB HDDs and backup files there, unfortunately there is not enough time for me to download all my stuff before rs will limit my account. So, you may follow my advice or not however I spent lots of time to be absolutely sure what is the best. I hope you guys won't lose much data. I personally lost 12 TB when filesonic was closed so I won't let it happen again.

@slingfile thanks for the professional response,

appreciate it.

i have 2 - 2.5 tb on my rs account, some personal; backups, some workfiles which will be shared with a majority of 50 work collegues, theres no dmca videos music etc on there, its all work related and will never go over 2.5 tb in space

i was looking at moving the 2 tb over via remote upload, or basically get what i can, then if that didnt work, also move over maually via ftp by myself

its a shame because the site looked great.

ive sent you a pm anyway, and ill look into psting the request details

edit: also becasue on occasions il be sharing files with work colleagues i noticed a "live jasmin porn popup come up" when clicking on a test upload i did?

is this the case with the porn pop ups, as i said it may be not safe for work for some of my work collegues?

or is this a problem with maybe browser redicrection?

regards

Thanks!

We'll most likely have pricing similar to Mega, that is: $9/mo - 500GB instead of Unlimited storage space.

I'm not sure why the porn popups are coming in. I will ask the advertiser to block adult content.

---

My account was also suspended / deleted on slingfile, I tried to login few times earlier and it doesn't login

It could be that we had problems with our database servers due to power outage, and you were not able to log in because of that. Could you please try again and let me know if it still doesn't work?

Yes, as I mentioned earlier, we will have pricing similar to Mega:

$10/mo - 500GB storage
$20/mo - 2TB storage
$30/mo - 4TB storage

We do NOT delete random files from users' accounts unless there's a DMCA takedown request. That OP who said that "WE" deleted the files, his account got compromised, and someone else deleted them. We have IP logs to prove that.

How about SendSpace?

Storage: can't find it
Max. file size: 4GB
File removal: Never
Desktop program: Yes
Other: Fair Use Policy

or Putlocker?

Storage: Unlimited
Max. file size: 5GB
File removal: Never
Desktop program: Yes (api)
Other: -
