Hello guys,

Im currently in the middle of word press system for Litewarez and as im new to Wordpress im wondering what ideas,plugins you can give me!

The blog is for all major scene news,Litewarez news, Tutorials, Security with downloading, Latest files to be aware of etc.

Im wondering the following:

  1. What the best plugin for wordpress that you have used
  2. Do you ahve any ideas for the system
  3. General tips when working with WP

Your help is appreciated.

So far ill be doing the following!

OpenID - Integration
Facebook connect - Integration
Social sharing
User account integration to litewarez front end!
All wordpress defualts such as RSS

WP Super Cache - a must have for caching, makes ur blog way faster..
WordPress Stats - for detailed stats.
Akismet - say bye to spam.
SEO Friendly Images - automatically adds alt attribute to your images.
Yet Another Related Posts Plugin - generates related posts under the post, good to keep ur visitors engaged and for SEO as well.

A few that I can think of right now -

1. All in SEO, if your theme doesn't have such features
2. XML Sitemap
3. WP Pagenavi
4. Related post plugin
5. Plugin for social bookmarking site (can't remember the name)

The theme is designed by me and i do take into consideration about seo factors !
XML Sitemaps i dont think i need as the RSS Feeds are ok for Search Engines
I dont really need page Navi atm, ill design some larger buttons for the navigation for ease.

change permalinks to:

/%postname%.html (good for small blogs)
or
/%postname%-%post_id%.html (better for larger blogs)

plus, you should have it as a subdomain, blog.litewarez.net and not litewarez.net/blog
 
i'll second All in One SEO and i like to use GD Star Rating. it lets your visitors to vote on how much they like your posts. any kind of interaction is a good thing.

Theme Tester is a good one too when you are trying out some new changes and dont want to screw with how your visitors will see your site as you tweet things.

WP to Twitter is a good one that will automatically tweet updates and shorten URLs if you are gonna use that.
