I Was using proxy software and suddenly i got an error that administrator has banned your ip contact Admin...


My Question is Wjunction did not allowed proxy ??

If you really want to hide your real IP, use a VPN, but avoid the popular ones (e.g SwissVPN).

I sometimes use my Netdirekt VPS to access WJ and it works. When I used worldstream VPS it didn't :P

Sometimes I use Hidemyass VPN at work when I want to browse the internet. Some servers on their list are banned on WJ.

cookies wont work ..so you can just browse..and chances that it will be banned by wj, is less, because its hosted on Google App Engine..

WJ can't really ban every proxy out there. There are many sites that list thousands and thousands of working proxies.

The list of proxies is endless. You can't block 'em all. I can always find some working proxy to get in if I wanted to :P

you are right..but there are many more reliable ways to block users who use proxy..
majority of all public proxy servers add some headers like
HTTP_X_FORWARDED, HTTP_VIA etc..

just detect those and block them :P

I know I cannot block them all... Hence, I want to make things as difficult as possible.

Does anybody know how torrent sites perform their proxy scan on new registrants? I could simply allow new user to register but I can invoke "miserable users" mode on their accounts if they're signing up from a proxy.
