mac all the way like others are saying, u gotta own both systems in order to judge. i have both. well i have mbp with windows in parallel
shitty windows crashed my desktop so many time i made the switch to mac and im glad that i did. once go mac u never go back
 
Vote for windows..coz it's has been familiar and many people use..easy to found all windows software

mey be mac it's cool to see but no many user familiar with mac os
 
Windows for me since never used a Mac. I do know people who do use them and most of the time hate them since they all have PC's at home running Windows. Macs excel at doing video editing and graphic design no question about it but who can afford the stupidly high prices when you can buy a better machine for half the cost?

The damn Registry (even Microsoft recognized it is a pain in the ass)
Virus & Antivirus which makes everything slower
DLLs schock
Unending drivers issues
Hyper Complicated Upgrade Methodes of OS
No Final Cut Pro
No MacBook Air (although Windows runs on it)
No Apple Mail (best email client in my opinión)
Making anything creative takes infinitely longer in Windows for many reasons.
No iPhoto
Most problems in windows to solve drive you nuts... and many only solved by reinstalling everything again, because of the nature of Windows = Registry
Registry goes bad... everything goes bad
Installing anything means reboot and reboot and reboot because of ... yes Registry...
Uninstalling gets complicated... because of.... yes Registry
The more you touch the registry (installing uninstalling) the slower it goes after time, because is the database in which Microsoft base everything and has to be loaded into memory. If it gets corrupted, game over and start all over again.

Security holes everywhere...

The list goes on and on and on....

Unix (in which Mac OS X & Linux are based) works in a completely different way. Every application has its own settings files... if one gets corrupted it does not affect the whole system...

That's what a Microsoft Certified Engineer guy said, who have worked years with windows in all levels... 95% of all users that migrate to Mac never come back to windows... that should tell you something... and for my was like finding water in the dessert....

Stop talking about games in such comparisons kiddos.

Even by that, most successful and new games nowadays work on MAC, do ya search before opening you mouth and speak B-)

I don't think you should put "Which is better?" in the poll question since the two are not simple subjects to compare. You won't finish comparing the two, ever! If you really wanna compare and find out which one is better, it'll take a good 4-6 years to compare every detail things they put inside the operating systems to make them run the way they are running right now. Then we'll have hard time deciding since not everyone understand how they work and how much work are needed to do what they're doing now. So basically ask a better question, "Which one do you like more?". Now people can kind of tell you their taste. I'm used to Windows but I'm curious to have an Apple computer but I still dislike Apple's pricings. They're greedy business marketers and maybe they think we're all fools to pay a lot of extra cash just for their a rip-off-from-fruit-name brand name and different designs.

They are professional marketers and since they see that their products sell well on high those prices why should they lower them down?

They are not winning the sell counts. Do you think Mac's are sold more than PC's? I can hardly believe that and I don't need to check the stats to know that. Yes, they make sells but they're not at top in quantity because they want to be so quality looking and for their hard works, they want to charge like triple than other hard workers.

Are you 50 year's old? did you even check Apple's income charts?
It's 2011 and soon 2012, Microsoft's era is over. Live with it.
