will i lose my traffic if i remove my site?

hello,

my sites are infected. they are wordpress sites. i have like 15k posts on them. so if i remove whole website and install a clean site will google stop sending traffic to those posts? maybe i can let 404 page start?

Why not fixing your site instead of starting clean?

Doing that will will cause some penalty from Google... you cant just remove 15k pages and think everything will be ok... it will for some time, but when google finds out you dont have your content anymore... he'll send you to 9th pit of hell :P

If you remove all your content, yes! You could clean up the site or start it all over again. You may have direct traffic.

@ OP: yes, Google will be mad about it. And you might lose all the traffic.

One question tho, why is it infected? How? Maybe we can help you fixing it?

i had the same kinda problem........ if you are using linux u can do a temporary fix.

clean the virus code from your template files (index, footer, header etc) and ask your host to use chatr command for ur files to lock it from being modified (even from root)

after doing that you can make google reconsider via webmaster tools within 2-3 hrs ur SE traffic will resume.
