Well, I didn't see polls like this for the former social entries. There's hype, everyone's curious, people are always looking to use that "new thing" and "be the first" which entails followers.

Google and FaceBook are both giants, they'll remain in competition.

I think it'll be succesful, why not?
That was only the first Google+ wave and thousands of people were interested and they're still interested about this Google project.
