Same here Aff. It was huge problem when I had my old PC way back with 512mb RAM, FF would eat like 200-300mb of RAM so it was super slow. I don't have that problem now with new computer but still I notice that if I have lot tabs + have my FF opened for quite a while usage goes up to 500-700mb RAM too.

It could be cached data or w.e. If there was addon or way to flush unnecessary data from time to time that would be great.

CyberAff I have the same problem on Chrome, sometimes it eat so much memory that my PC starting to work slow, its very strange because I have 4GB of DDR3 memory O.o

I have this problem from about two weeks ...

I don't know about other browser's
but firefox the more time you open the more memory usage you will see
you can optimize firefox and reduce it's memory usage by using firemin aka Firefox Plumber here http://www.mediafire.com/?2tzel3c23d2m3nd

please note this program won't work if you installed firefox in anything place other than default installation folder

for chrome user's try disabling some of the extension's you have because that's why your browser eating all this memory :D
you can use about:memory to view memory usage

i hope this is the answer you are looking for :)
