I compared a lot of server provider and many of them forbid the use of their servers for streaming purpose and some of them have "special" streaming servers which are expensive as hell compared to their regular offers.
Do sites like Openload, Streamcloud, Rapidvideo, etc. use these kind of special streaming servers for their purpose or do they use "normal" ones? If so wouldn't it be noticeable to the provider that they are using it for streaming?
If you use progressive download for streaming would that even count as streaming? I mean it's just a download where the meta data of the stream is at the beginning of the video, or am I wrong?
As far is I could find out streaming servers are up to 5 times more expensive than normal ones. I cannot imagine that this would be profitable at all!?
So how do they do it and where do they get there servers from?
