Actually, nvidia aren't the best anymore.

AMD/ATI has the current fastest single-gpu card and is almost always cheaper.
I used to buy nvidia cards, but no more as they are overpriced for lower performance.

Also there's no comparison here, the 6790 is on another level compared to the 550Ti, you'd have to be stupid to buy the 550Ti in this case. So forget what all the fanboys say and get the 6790, it is better, fact.

are you kidding me? hes asking which card he should buy, not which manufacturer is best.

No poll is needed.
The AMD/ATI card is better.
Fanboys should stay out of this thread before he makes the mistake of buying the far lower spec nvidia card.

JmZ, while you're kinda correct, if he wants stability, I'd recommend him to go with the nVidia card. From my own personal experience with my own rigs as well as people bringing gaming rigs in to fix, I can tell you AMD/ATI drivers are one HELL of a thing to have to deal with.

Two identical systems, one the drivers work fine, the other the complete opposite.
While some AMD/ATI cards are a better "bang for buck", the headache and issues regarding failing drivers is enough to make somebody pay more to get a similar card from the competing chip manufacturer.

Thanks guyz ... now both have dis advantages and advantages ... as i already mentioned i have 500watt power supply .. will it work fine with the ati card ??? i searched and found 550ti needs 450watt so there will be no issue with that card ...i have also heard ati cards are having prob running some games as mafia 2 doesnt run with this ati card ... dont know the reason but im much interested in the ati one ..

In performance it is ATI !!

but for long term use and stability its nVidia

*i heard ATI is better for HD/multimedia performance*
while nvidia for gaming and graphics :|
I use nVidia and has always used the same. I like it though its expensive.
Its worth ;)

You would need a better PSU for ATI i think :) GL!

Can't you take it back to the store? pay extra and get a bigger one? you should always plan ahead before buying materials.
