Dear All,

I have been searching for control panel solution for Linux VPS that I am going to purchase from hostkey.

Here are what I need:

1- Free Control Panel (as I don't want to invest on this at this stage)

2- Control Panel that supports 1-click app installers.

3- Free 1-click app installer, I will install wordpress, myBB (to replace with VBB later).

4- Control Panel that uses minimum rosources.

What I will host:

1- 2 Websites, all forums..one small forum and one I expect to grow up, will add more resource.

2- For email I will use google apps.

Resource available for VPS:

1- 1 Gb RAM.

2- Two Core.

3- 1 IP.

4- CentOS.

5- Unix Dev: LAPM (Apache/PHP/MySQL)

Please advice me on these, if anything you think I should change, get.

Thank you very much for any replies.

Regards.

Jim.

Is it centos x86 or x86_64 (64bit)?

Reason i ask is because kloxo control panel is free and also has a script installer for which you are asking, but it will only work on a x86 build and not 64 bit.

There is also webmin which i think has a script installer also and that will work on any build of centos.

The most recommended version of centos i suggest is the 64bit as it can handle way more and use way less resource then x86.
With kloxo you WILL need someone to configure it as the default configuration is very bad.

Thank you very much. Do u recommend webmin ? Are my VPS configurations good for two Vbulletin boards? Script installers in webmin are like installatron or fantastico?
Regards.

I was just taking a look and webmin does not have a auto script installer..

You can take a look at webuzo which does.

Also your vps is fine for 2 vb boards, but since vb gets very highly resourceful you may need to do some very good optimizations later when you get more traffic like mysql tuning and maybe changing to nginx.

I m a bit confuse, with CentOS, & Unix Dev: LAPM (Apache/PHP/MySQL) will I need only webuzo to install apps in 1-click? How will I divide space and features between two domains like in cPanel and WHM? Please help.
@Froomple
Thank you for the advice, do I need to have a prerequisite for this? Will I be able to divide resource and space between two domains as well or do I need something like WHM for that?
Thank you for help from both of you.

I am just wondering i know its off topic, but what is your reason for wanting a vps if you are just starting 2 forums why not use shared hosting then learn linux and how to setup lamp and such then move onto a vps.

Actually I tried shared and reseller hosting in past and always experienced very slow loading time. I want to make sure sites load reasonably quick with reasonable investment.

@Loonycgb2 ,
Thank you. I will give it a try.
@Sky
Do I need "Unix Dev: LAPM (Apache/PHP/MySQL)" besides CentOS to install Kloxo ?

I am going to install Kloxo, but do I need HyperVM before Kloxo ? How many IP would I need ? Please guide.
