By looking at the image can you tell if the error is my fault. No matter what I try to install I get the same error. The vps hosting company says it's my fault.8-)
Thanks for the quick reply! So in order to install software on the server I need to edit
/etc/resolv.conf .:O What would be the correct format to insert ip's in "resolv.conf". Believe it or not I sent them the same image and they told me I didn't know how to follow instructions. I guess since I'm new to a vps the hosting company decided not to tell me that one.8-)
I'm not with any hosting company now, so I can't try that now. Looking for a friendlier vps hosting company, if there is one. :P I guess if you're new to a vps don't bother to try one with support like that. Their atitude is we know and screw you
since you don't... 8-)
What I couldn't understand why did they bother to give me the commands to install Kloxo when they already knew I couldn't do it. Why? Because I didn't know anything about editing "/etc/resolv.conf". They could of told me to edit the file but I guess it was more fun for them to see me squirm. 8-) So much for customer satisfaction...)
I knew it was unmanaged but since they were willing to tell me about installing Kloxo. Then why couldn't they have told me more so I could install it? I would be happy, instead I'm looking for hosting elsewhere. I guess that was their goal..
Personally I would help you with the issue, even if it was unmanaged, the only time I wouldn't help if it was something like setting up mail servers or something like that.
Many hosts are many staff are different from one another, it just depends on what kind of people they are. Personally I like helping people because it makes me feel happy and useful and the second reason is because people will recommend my services if I do a good job.
Other hosts sometimes would rather have to do very little work, get paid less and not have recommendations.
I was very lucky to have someone who helped me when I started out with VPS's.
Tech support should take lessons from you on how to deal with people.
Again I knew I bought an unmanaged vps but how much effort would it be
to tell me "dude, you need to edit /etc/resolv.conf 1st".8-) That's asking
too much and for that I'm gonna give up vps's, wrong....
