Well technically if we look at the question, Its gives us a particular Date and year. Pointing at that Post Office Service is Usually off. As El_J is right somehow, but we will take as a Usual thing.
So at Jan 7th, 2007 it was Sunday's... So it shows that the murderer is obviously House maid..

Muderer cant be the "house maid", she was a female and must not be strong enough to kill his master.. Even if she kill him, then there will be a reason "why"? Is there anything going between the two... Lol. If that so, then her wife would have killed him..
