Is shared hosting better or the ~ $7 Vps plans ?

What are the most reliable hosts with little downtimes & good service / Fast Speeds ??

Stable layer doesn't even offer shared hosting anymore. This guy must be on crack or something,

Try NationWebHost. Using their shared hosting this month and so far so good. Had my problems with them but they were good enough to act fast and sort out the problems quickly.

VPS is still shared as you share the Node with multiple VPS's. $5 for a VPS? How many VPS's have to be on the node to cover the server's cost? If they have some 4 cores with and 8 GB RAM(which is still pretty low for a VPS Node) server for let's say $130 a month they would have to put 26 VPS's on the Node to cover the server's cost, without SolusVM licence.

In this case shared hosting will be much better solution. You don't get root access but at least your processes aren't getting killed once in a while because the host node gets out of available memory(oom-killer). Shared hosting is better than overloaded VPS for sure.
