WBB Uptime And Maintenance

Everything is up and running again.
However, we identified a new bug yesterday that causes network performance to degrade over a period of time. To fix this, we need to upgrade our kernel to the latest version. This will mean that we will experience a scheduled downtime of up to 3 hours to rectify this and to make sure everything will be churning away as normal.
We will also take this opportunity to upgrade our MySQL version to the latest.
We will pull the servers off line at 3:30AM (GMT) today.

I better upload in my own forum and I download from Katz.

Its better to dump a website which is most of the time down.

warezbb is a great site which has more traffic than any warez so server cost a lot and warez bb is very fast but since some time they are experiencing some downtime but it can happen to anyone hope they fix that soon

It's actually modified phpbb2 with some of phpbb3 features, but they are suppose to be upgrading soon to phpbb3 with a shiz load of new features lol



and at everyone that doesn't understand why people use wbb, its because of the community wbb has, they probably 4-5 times the community of any site listed on katz =)

As Jay said it's not a simple site. No site that size is. They have multiple servers. Images on one, database on another. I think their search server has 16 GB or ram and they still need a 30 second flood control.
Every single warez app is designed to leech or interact with WBB too. Sharpleech must be a nightmare on WBB requesting hundreds of topics for loads of shitty forums every second. Apps like Jay's autoposter add to server stress too without adding real users. It would be like being under a never ending dos attack. Even with all these apps and lechers they still have the best community around.
Can I also point out that they've only two adverts and no text links or any other form of advertising or link exchanges. They don't accept donations any longer either. Most small forums who can survive on shared hosting have their sites covered with adverts and paid text links and are asking all their members to donate towards server fees and VIP.

Mr Happy, they don't accept donations because paypal always freezes wbb's paypal account. They had donations before, and if you look at the donators list, you will see how many people donated.
Only 2 ads? It's more than enough with such traffic. I've spoken with Coolyou once on msn about ads, and they hit about 13 million unique visitors per month. So, imagine their income from 2 simple ads...

And indeed, warez-bb has a great community. And that's why people stay there

Because they are famous for being down all the time.
They give high download hits to uploaders thats why they stick there.

If thats so then how katz is always up. I mean katz is not like warez-bb as a comunity portal site with sharing threads but yes they are somewhat same.

Yes even if 100 people donated 1 $ then think what have 1000 people have made them earn uptill now.
They have stopped taking donations but they arent also poor to buy more and more powerful servers.

Things like Downtime , Maintaince happen everyday , nothing unusuall to me , but i still Stick with Warez-BB when comes to Uploading , i've proven that it generates the most number of downloads .
